While scrolling around celebrity gossip sites, I took a quick first glance at this picture and I could’ve sworn that Kim K.’s got her shoes on backwards:

After I got over my initial reaction, I took a closer look at those shoes and just couldn’t take my eyes off of them.
Kim Kardashian’s shoes are the Elizabeth and James Send1. The exact shoe is this pair in black suede … :

… but it’s also available in a faux snakeskin leather material:

This angular, asymmetrical shoe is supposed to be a hybrid of a d’orsay and a wedge heel. The gores expose the outer sides of the feet, which gives the appearance of having your shoes on the wrong feet. I wonder how comfortable – or how strange – that feels? Maybe it’s one of those things that takes some time getting used to.
Other celebs who have gotten used to the feeling are Rachel Bilson and Elizabeth and James brand owner herself, Mary Kate Olsen:

I like them best on Kim Kardashian because not only do they fit her well (Mary Kate’s look like they’re a size too big), but her sleek and streamlined outfit really sets off the asymmetrical-ness of the Elizabeth and James Send1 shoes.
If you were one of those kids who always unknowingly put their shoes on backwards, then these extreme wedges would be a trip down memory lane. The Elizabeth and James Send1 heels are available at Zappos.com but they’re stocked in limited numbers. If you do get lucky and chance upon them, then you could get as much as 35-40% off the original price of $379.00. So keep checking!
