Miss Glitzy’s Derby Shoe Collection for André

February 17, 2010 • By Erika

If us shoe bloggers all could only be as lucky as Miss Glitzy.

Get this: French footwear brand André approached Miss Glitzy and asked her if she wanted to come and design the shoe of her dreams.

Who would say no to THAT? Miss Glitzy certainly didn’t and in fact, didn’t even think twice about saying yes.

So envious, but her story is so inspiring. She, along with 5 other handpicked bloggers, formed a team of designers for a special shoe collection for André. This is Miss Glitzy’s very own contribution to that collection, a gorgeous pair of derby shoes in different colors:

Miss Glitzy derby shoe collection for André

Miss Glitzy is a self-confessed fan of derby shoes and you’d immediately see her love for the shoe style when you read through her blog. Her concept for André was to recreate that beloved derby shoe and turn it into a more feminine style that you could wear for spring and summer. The results were these lovely leather and canvas blends in muted hues. The favorite? The dark blue denim and sparkly metallic pink combination pictured above.

Miss Glitzy was able to live out the dream of many shoe fanatics: to create your own pair of shoes that you love so much. Sigh.

The bloggers’ and Miss Glitzy’s shoes will only be available in André stores in France. If you are not based in France and love derby shoes, then you can get your fix with these following shoes, available anywhere (just order them online!):

Metallic mania: Steven by Steve Madden Women’s Melin, $99.00 at Shoes.com

A high-heeled version: Steve Madden Reilly Heel, $76.29 at Heels.com

Casual and classic: Bass Women’s Enfield, $65.00 at Shoes.com

Now if only someone would call us up and ask us to design the shoe of OUR dreams…
