Toecap Shoes Cap Things Off this February

There’s still over a week left before February ends but like any dutiful fashion trendspotter, it’s good to be ahead of the curve and report things way ahead of time.

As always, YourNextShoes has kept an eye out for new trends in footwear and the emerging “thing” so far for this month of Feb is toecap shoes. Although not as widespread as say, studs, toecaps were still seen on the tips of all sorts of footwear – like pumps, boots, and strappy sandals – and on the feet of all sorts of influential celebs – like an American model/actress, a style icon, and an Oscar-winning French actress.

Mary Kate Olsen was spotted leaving her New York apartment last February 4. Staying true to her boho chic/rock and roll style, she dressed down a polished red coat with steel-toed boots. Both are from the Lanvin Fall 2009 collection.

This picture of Marion Cotillard (with Penelope Cruz) was just taken yesterday February 18 at the premiere of Nine in Paris, France. Marion’s Christian Dior Fall Couture 2009 dress and satin toe-capped heels were made to be worn together.
