Jennifer Hudson Vs. Street Stylista: Who Wore the Givenchy Studded Booties Better?

I saw this picture Tommy Ton of the Jak & Jil Blog took of a stylish Paris Fashion Week attendee and instantly fell in love. As I always do. With Givenchy shoes.

I got to see them again just a few days ago, this time on the feet of American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson who rocked them at her “Good Morning America” guest appearance:

Jennifer was in New York City on April 1 to talk about her national advertising campaign with Weight Watchers and how she achieved her newly slimmed down body after she became a spokesperson for them. With those blunt bangs, the skinny jeans, and of course, those Givenchy Studded Booties, Jennifer Hudson has never looked fiercer.

Compare the picture Tommy Ton took and the pictures of Jennifer Hudson. The Givenchy booties are styled very differently – blue wool socks and grey sweats for the fashion week attendee, and a tailored outfit for Jennifer Hudson. I am amazed at how these two interpretations of one article of clothing can be poles apart on the style scale, yet they’re both very interesting looks.

So who wore the Givenchy Studded Booties better – Tommy Ton’s street stylista or Jennifer Hudson?

Personally, I’m torn between the two. Jennifer Hudson is mass-appeal beautiful, but I’m also very intrigued by what the rest of the socks-and-sweats-girl’s outfit looks like. If she’s got me interested with her feet alone, then she must be a real headturner. Hey, she got Tommy Ton to take a picture of her.
