Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Seinfeld Baby Buggy Benefactors

They look buddy-buddy in these pictures but they might as well be battling it out – with their shoes that is. Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld’s wife) were seen at the Balenciaga boutique in East Hampton, New York last July 28 wearing nearly the exact same pair of heels:

Of course they’re wearing Balenciagas to go shopping at Balenciaga.

The two were at it again just three days later at the Baby Buggy Summer’s Dinner held at the Seinfeld’s home in Amangasett, New York. They wore different shoes this time but both pairs were still equally stunning:

Okay, you know I’m just kidding and these two actually look like they’re good friends, but still, it’s kind of fun to imagine Jessica Seinfeld staring down Gwyneth Paltrow and thinking “oh no she didn’t” when she comes sashaying into the Balenciaga/Baby Buggy benefit (which is Jessica’s own event and her own non-profit organization by the way) wearing the exact same pair of shoes. Vowing to not be upstaged again, Jessica plans on wearing the brightest pair of shoes she owns next time, not caring if it doesn’t go and in fact totally clashes with the dress she already bought for the event.

Oh the drama that could have been!

Of course, no such thing happened (nothing happened – right?) but seeing someone wearing something you’re wearing is always an awkward moment. Well, for me anyways.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Seinfeld’s shoes in the first picture are the Balenciaga Sandals in Canvas, Ostrich and Leather from the Balenciaga Spring 2010 collection.
