Costume National Classic Black Flats: Good Buy or Unnecessary Luxury?

For a change, let’s talk about some good ol’ simple flats for today. You know, the reliable kind, the pointy black one that you can wear all year round. Here is a fresh one of that from Costume National. It’s definitely a classic – it’s black, comes with a pointy toe (which is flattering to most feet and legs), and to keep it interesting, Costume National added a cutout detail on the back of the heel.

Costume National 11 115659 22149 Black Flats

As with all other Costume National articles, the pair is made of genuine leather and was crafted in Italy. It is truly understated and fuss free; AND, you will absolutely be able to use frequently.  The only drawback – it is very expensive, about $438.

Given that it is something you can actually use almost everyday, will go well with almost anything, and will probably last you through the years, would you consider it a good buy or just an unnecessary expense?

If your answer is the former, you can grab these Costume National flats at Zappos. Otherwise, here are great alternatives:

Daniblack Rexa in Black Python Vevelt, $91 from $150

Sam Edelman Isador in Black Suede, $100

Elizabeth and James Jolt in Wine Pony (Sold Out)
