Coming Back to an Old Love – the Report Signature Layton 2 Platform Booties

This platform bootie is an old fall style but I find myself always coming back to it. It’s in a simple and sleek style that would make it easy to pair with a wide variety of fall/winter outfits. This lighter taupe version with the blond wood-ish colored heel would work for the spring/summer seasons too:

That leather-covered heel is a dizzying 5″ high but because it’s in block column form, it doesn’t look as threatening as if it was in stiletto form. Of course, there’s also that 1 1/2″ thick platform in front to help balance things out. This bootie is very simply styled but the little things, like that subtly pointed center-stitched toe and that lovely solid metal zipper pull, keep it from falling into the “plain and boring” category.

Our sister site Boots4You already featured these booties as a cheaper alternative to Kristin Cavallari’s Jimmy Choo Evans ankle boots back in October, but at $265.00, they weren’t exactly “low-cost” for me. But thanks to all the post-holiday and winter sales happening right now I can now come back to this old love and perhaps, at last, bring them home and call them my own.
