Fresh, Fun and Flirty: 5 Shoe Trends to Try For Fall 2012

With each season usually comes several new trends in footwear. While we’d like to try them all, there’s a good chance our wallets or taste won’t really allow it. We decided to put together a short list of our 5 favorite trends for fall 2012. Take a look and we’ll tell you why we think each is so great!

1. Biker Chic Boots

ShoeDazzle Splendid, $49.95

Biker style leather boots are a lot more versatile than you’d think. We love the way that they look with feminine chiffon dresses or skirts, and they work with skinny jeans just as well. I love to add a biker style bootie to rugged cut off shorts and a pretty blouse in a feminine fabric and shade like coral silk.

2. Cap Toes

JustFab Anoushka, $39.95

Cap toe pumps add a retro lady-like feel that is ideal for the office or date night. This particular pair features a platform which puts a modern twist on the Betty Draper-esque style.

3. Wedge Sneakers

Steve Madden ‘Hilight’, $149.95

If you’re not sartorially brave wedge sneakers may not be the best choice for you. However, they’re a lot less scary than you may think. I own a couple of styles personally and they’re super comfy, add a little height and look great with dresses, skirts and slim pants! Try one. You might like it!

4. Black and Gold

Black and gold is one of the lushest and most popular color combos for fall 2012. We love the interesting rose gold and black combo of this pump from Aperlai. However, a traditional black pump with basic gold detailing could have the same richness and pizazz. Keep an eye out for this mixture in bags and accessories too!

5. Metal Heels

Pumps are obviously a go-to this season. We love the interesting approach of a metal heeled version like these. It adds some fun without being too blingy or bright.

So now that you’ve sifted through our short list of fall shoe trends to try what do you think? Which look would you go for this season? Tell us if you’d try one, all or none!
