Elle Fanning in Two Slightly Strange Shoe Styles — White Booties and Chunky Platforms

Dakota Fanning’s little sister, Elle Fanning, has been spotted on the red carpet more and more lately — and we’re fascinated by her bold shoe choices! We’ve featured Elle in the past in her signature Prada platforms. While I commended her for the bold choice, I’m glad she’s opting for more variety in her red carpet looks.

She was spotted in a pair of white Rochas booties and a white dress straight from the spring runway, as well as a pair of metallic Chanel resort 2013 sandals weeks before:

While I don’t even like the idea of white lace-up boots, I appreciate Elle’s bravery here. She has the right physique for this all-white ensemble as well. Fortunately for me and for those who don’t favor the white version, the booties are available in black at Saks Fifth Avenue. These black booties are something I would actually wear myself. Check ‘em out.

Here, Elle paired a great strapless embroidered dress as well as metallic platform ankle-strap sandals — both from Chanel. While I totally love the dress, I don’t think her shoes were the best choice for it. Perhaps nude booties or even platform wedge sandals with some floral details would have worked out better. Nonetheless, the Chanel sandals by themselves are actually cool, although I’d probably wear them with printed shorts and a breezy knit top for vacation as opposed to a formal event.

These Chanel sandals aren’t available online yet. I’m sure we’ll see more celebs rocking them this spring and summer though, and I believe they’re destined to hit the virtual shelves soon.

Now that you’ve taken in both of Ms. Fanning’s recent red carpet looks, do share your comments. What do you think of her incredibly quirky shoe choices?
