A hot new shoe label, Ask Alice, has lured us down into its rabbit hole, and we’ve fallen in deep. Not that we’re looking to climb right back out anyway; we find Ask Alice’s twisted, playful, and tongue-in-cheek take on hot shoe trends endlessly enchanting.

Take cutouts, for example — Ask Alice has translated them into paper-art-like points, crafty curves and circles, and foot-flattering cuts on shoe designs. Other popular styles like color blocking, curved heels, and ankle straps have been passed through Ask Alice’s trend-flipping looking glass as well, which shows just why the label’s tagline is “A World of Twisted Logic.”

The bold cutting-edge style Ask Alice assumed for their debut S/S 2013 collection has crossed over into their fall 2013 line. The cold-weather ankle boots, pumps, and booties are just as daring and attention-getting, but the toned-down color palette of black, gray, and burgundy makes you want to seriously consider using them for everyday wear. And that shouldn’t be a hard decision to make, especially since prices are set at a reasonable $125 to $350.

George Mang, a veteran luxury shoe designer, is the creative genius behind Ask Alice. Find out more about this label on its Facebook page. Ask Alice shoes will soon be available for purchase at its boutique in NYC’s Nolita district, which is set to open its doors to shoppers on May 1.
