Parting ways is never easy. For Mandy Moore, bidding farewell to the cherished show This Is Us could potentially be her toughest goodbye to date.

“This Is Us” is a critically-acclaimed TV series that has been tugging at everyone’s heartstrings for six seasons.

In an interview with Variety, Moore recounted her memories of filming the final scenes of the show. The final episode aired on May 24, 2022.

“It very much echoes the way you feel about the end of a very seminal part of your life. I take what William’s character said in the previous episode to heart – if something does make you sad, it’s because you really loved it while it was unfolding, while it was happening.”

Did Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore get along?

Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore’s portrayal of Jack and Rebecca Pearson on This Is Us is widely regarded as exceptional, with their on-screen chemistry being a significant factor in the show’s success.

According to Ventimiglia, depicting such a profound connection between characters is difficult, but his seamless communication with Moore on set made the job easier. Ventimiglia explained that he and Moore established a close friendship on set characterized by open and honest communication and mutual support.

“We started this friendship where we were very communicative [and] very supportive. I remember saying to her, ‘If you’re not happy, I’m not happy,” Ventimiglia said. “And there have been moments where she and I have been on set together and she has not been happy with the direction a scene is going, or I haven’t been happy with the direction a scene is going,” he told EW.

“But where we ultimately find ourselves is her saying, ‘Hey Mi, what do you think?’ or me saying, ‘Hey Man, what do you think?’ And we would always find our way together… I think it’s rare that two people in the trade of acting can give so much of themselves to these characters and these roles, but Mandy has given me 100 percent, 100 percent of the time, and I give her exactly the same.”

He stated that if one of them was not happy with the direction a scene was going, they would work together to find a solution. Their ability to cultivate a strong relationship allowed them to fully invest in their respective characters and give their all to the roles.

Ventimiglia emphasized the rarity of two actors being able to give so much of themselves to their characters and roles. The on-screen chemistry between Ventimiglia and Moore was so profound that the entire series concludes with a final loving exchange between the two.

Moore expressed her appreciation for the sense of comfort that their relationship provided, particularly in the final moments of the show, where Jack helps Rebecca transition to the afterlife. According to Moore, no one could have gotten Rebecca through that moment, but Jack and his presence provided a sense of expertise and support.

The 38-year-old actress shared that keeping her tears at bay while filming the final scene was difficult. But it’s a good thing that she had co-star Milo Ventimiglia by her side through it all.

“That’s my partner of six seasons and it’s like, ‘Wow, we really did this together. We were Mom and Dad.’”

She explained that Ventimiglia “had a tissue ball underneath the pillow for me. Each take, Milo would very gingerly help me flip the pillow over, so you didn’t see the tear stains.”

Moore fondly recalled how her co-star would hand her “my little wad of tissues to sop up the tears.”

This kind of display was “so indicative of our relationship and the way we always supported each other and had each other’s back. It was effortless from the beginning, and it was effortless through the end.”

“I acknowledge that I will never, ever have an on-screen partner like Milo again. It’s so rare to connect with someone on that level. In every way, this job was once in a lifetime,” she concluded.

Well, the show might be ending, but Mandy Moore’s style is still flourishing.

Case in point: the Khoon Hooi Spring 2022 ensemble she wore at this year’s PaleyFest LA. This all-black look was a welcome change, as we’re used to seeing the actress in bright colors and striking patterns.

She wore the sleeveless Alexandra top with an embellished bodice, subtle pleated detailing, and a feathered trim.

Moore styled it with the Helena skirt, which added a playful element to her look. She finished it off with a dark red lip, simple jewelry, and a pair of strappy heels.

Perhaps her best red carpet look to date is the ethereal Elie Saab dress she wore for this year’s Critics Choice Awards.

It was a stark contrast from the all-black Khoon Hooi ensemble or the tailored designs of her previous looks.

This time, she opted for a floor-length dress in a gorgeous champagne hue from the Spring 2022 Haute Couture collection.

She looked like a Grecian goddess with its exquisite beading, cape-like detail, and flowy silhouette.

The plunging neckline added a sultry touch to this dress, making it a bold yet perfect choice for the star.

Her half-up and half-down hairstyle showcased her stunning drop earrings from Beladora. She rounded out her look with minimal makeup, a Beladora Art Deco ring, and Jimmy Choo sandals.
