Block Heels Are the New Celebrity Shoe Trend

We love spotting a trend at Your Next Shoes. Chunky heels, block heels, thick heels. Whatever you like to call them, they’re the latest style that all the stars are wearing. We love them because they’re easier to walk in (thank god). Take a look below at the latest designs the celebs have chosen.

Ahna O’Reilly

Actress Ahna O’Reilly attended ELLE’s 20th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration. Ahna looked pretty as a picture in a blue watercolor strapless dress by Monique Lhuillier.

She paired this dress with black Bionda Castana “Christa” platform sandals. These shoes are designed in black crepe and feature cute peep toes, ankle straps with giant buckles, and those all-important block heels.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia was a guest at the same event hosted by ELLE and was dressed entirely in pieces from Calvin Klein’s spring 2013 collection. Her strapless mini dress features a sheer knee-length overlay and was accessorized with a simple black belt.

The thick golden heels of Emilia’s gorgeous Calvin Klein platform sandals are of a baroque wood-carved design and are the standout part of the shoes. Beige snakeskin is the material for the rest of the sandals. They also come in black satin. New season shoes can be bought at Calvin Klein.

Shailene Woodley

Shailene was yet another stylish attendee at ELLE’s 20th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration. She rocked in a look straight off the Calvin Klein spring 2014 runway. Her geometric tunic is printed in toned-down shades of gray and brown and has minimal cutout detailing on both sides.

Shailene’s woven leather sandals are also from Calvin Klein’s latest collection, and they feature open toes as well as tough, chunky heels. The actress wore a brown pair, but they will also be available in black, white, and chic snakeskin.

Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger cemented her status as a style icon once again at Autism Speaks’ 3rd Annual Blue Jean Ball. She wore a pale pink tuxedo dress embellished with pearls from Emilia Wickstead’s fall 2013 collection. Diane teamed the pink with a whole lot of red, including her lipstick, clutch, and pumps.

Diane’s satin shoes gave even more elegance to her ensemble with their pointy toes and architectural chunky heels. We’re still trying to ID the designer, so let us know if you recognize these pumps.

Laura Whitmore

Presenter Laura Whitmore turned up to the WGSN Global Fashion Awards dressed as a cloud (her words, not ours). Her white feathery Nicholas Oakwell Couture dress was cinched in with a silver belt and she mixed those metals with a gold perfume bottle clutch.

Her silver pumps joined the metallic theme and came complete with dainty ankle straps and embellished block heels. The designer of Laura’s shoes remains a mystery.
