Sarah Hyland, Lucy Fry, and Zoey Deutch were just a few of the celebrities that glammed up at the Los Angeles premiere of the 2014 fantasy comedy horror film Vampire Academy.

Later the same month, the pink carpet premiere in February 2014 of Vampire Academy in Sydney, Australia, gave us several more pairs of shoes to talk about and drool over.

Sarah Hyland was 23 years old, Lucy Fry was 21 years old, and Zoey Deutch was 19 years old when Vampire Academy premiered on February 7, 2014.

Sarah Hyland was born on November 24, 1990, and turned 24 years old in 2014. Lucy Fry was born on March 13, 1992, and celebrated her 22nd birthday in 2014. Zoey Deutch was born on November 10, 1994, and turned 20 in 2014.

Despite initial setbacks, Lucy Fry’s persistence paid off when she landed a studio callback for the Vampire Academy movie through a self-tape submission after not receiving a callback for the first casting.

Sarah Hyland had to audition for her role in the Vampire Academy movie remotely, over Skype, while she was working on the revisionist 2013 miniseries Bonnie & Clyde in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

She found the experience to be unusual, as the video quality was not great. Despite this, the director, Mark Waters, also joined the call and provided her with direction while a colleague read lines with her. This was her only audition and she didn’t have to do in-person audition.

Vampire Academy marked the feature film debut of both Lucy Fry and Anya Taylor-Joy. While Fry had a leading role in the film, Taylor-Joy made an uncredited cameo appearance as a “feeder girl.”

Despite the underwhelming performance of the 2014 film adaptation of Vampire Academy, plans for a sequel were initially pursued. However, these plans were ultimately scrapped.

In May 2021, it was announced that there were plans to adapt the popular book series into a television series. This decision was likely influenced by the success of other book-to-TV adaptations, such as Shadowhunters, which ran for three seasons after the 2013 film adaptation of its source material, The Mortal Instruments, was a box office disappointment.

In September 2022, a reboot television series of the same name premiered on Peacock. It stars Sisi Stringer, Daniela Nieves, Kieron Moore, and André Dae Kim alongside an ensemble cast.

At the Sydney premiere of Vampire Academy, the trio opted for girly dresses in gorgeous colors that made them look like sugary sweet confections.

Zoey added some contrast to her pretty frock with a sleek hairstyle and dark smoky eyes.

The actress wore a pair of pink-and-purple slingback sandals from Sophia Webster, which added a playful element to her overall look.

The then-19-year-old actress was about to make big waves in Hollywood and had already gotten the stamp of approval from Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the iconic role of Buffy in Joss Whedon’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Sarah even shared a photo on Twitter that showed her standing next to a life-size poster of Zoey holding a stake. She sent it to the young actress with a message that said, “You sure u know how to use that stake?”

2. Sarah Hyland in Temperley London

Sarah Hyland was all dolled up in a sleeveless pink frock from Temperley London’s Resort 2014 collection, which features floral appliqués on the hemline.

We don’t have the exact details of Sarah’s shoes, but they look like the designer’s “Luna” peep-toe platform pumps.
