The 2014 epic science fiction film Interstellar premiere was quite a star-filled night thanks to Anne Hathaway, who showed up with starry hand jewelry.

She was 31 years old when Interstellar premiered in Los Angeles on October 26, 2014, and celebrated her 32nd birthday on November 12, 2014.

Anne Hathaway’s sole live-action release in 2014 was Christopher Nolan’s epic science fiction film, Interstellar.

The dystopian future setting portrays humanity’s struggle for survival, where a team of astronauts, including Hathaway’s character, Dr. Amelia Brand, search for a new home through a wormhole.

Hathaway’s character’s name, Amelia, is believed to be a subtle nod to the famous pilot Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She disappeared while attempting to fly around the world.

Like Hathaway’s on-screen persona, Earhart was a trailblazer who went beyond what was previously thought possible in exploration and aviation.

The high-profile production, with a budget of $165 million, predominantly used IMAX cameras and co-starred Matthew McConaughey and Jessica Chastain.

Hathaway’s interest in her character’s personal growth, from arrogance to humility, drew her to the role. While filming a water scene in Iceland, Hathaway nearly experienced hypothermia due to an improperly secured dry suit.

“I was wearing a suit that kayakers wear, called a dry suit. And human error, we didn’t close it all the way. And you’re in the suit for hours and hours and hours, so there was about an inch opening in it, and I’m sitting in the water, which is not very warm,” she told THR about risking hypothermia on the set of Interstellar.

We’d been shooting in the elements, and it’s not like I was the only one in pain. I was just the only one in specific pain, and I didn’t want to hold up shooting. But at some point, I wasn’t sure if I could feel my toes… and then I was feeling all sorts of weird flashes and things were getting a little hazy around the edges, and that’s when I turned to our first (assistant director), and I said, ‘Hey, I don’t know that much about hypothermia, but what are the symptoms?’

I explained what was going on, and he said, ‘Oh, like, right now?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah!’ And so then he went over to (director) Chris (Nolan), and Chris was like, ‘OK, let’s roll, let’s roll, let’s roll right now!’ And we were done shortly thereafter.

Critics from The Independent and Empire praised Hathaway’s performance, with one describing her portrayal of a scientist struggling with her professional responsibilities and personal feelings as “soulful nuance.”

Interstellar grossed over $701 million worldwide, and Hathaway’s performance earned her a Saturn Award nomination for Best Actress.

A midnight blue Richard Nicoll satin slip dress served as the night sky backdrop to her astral accessory. A matching long necklace draped down the actress’ back, while a short wavy bob and kohl-rimmed eyes completed the look.

Anne’s understated outfit was a big departure from the elegant and feminine style we’re used to seeing on her, and the handpiece looks like something a teenage girl would pick to wear to junior prom.

We also can’t get over how her silver french manicure looks more like pencil lead under her nails. Anne fired Rachel Zoe earlier the same year and was being styled by Penny Lovell.

The starry hand jewelry was the highlight of Anne’s look and made for exciting poses.

She appeared to have had a grand time coming up with different creative hand-on-thigh, hand-over-the-legs, and hand-on-shoulder poses to model the piece for the cameras properly.

As for the shoes, we got these glimpses of the Christian Louboutin fringe sandals on Anne’s feet:

These shoes are an old style from way back in 2007. Anne wore them for the first time that year when she attended the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s “A Magical Evening” gala in NYC.

We’ve got nothing against wearing old shoes, but fringed sandals don’t really go so well with a sexy, slinky satin gown.

Also, there are so many better styles from the latest Christian Louboutin collection that Anne could’ve chosen from like these dark blue “Apostrophy” pumps featuring the new red-side heels:

These strappy sandals that glitter like the night sky are also a good option:

Which pair do you think Anne Hathaway should’ve worn with her Richard Nicoll dress instead?
