This is a sponsored post that we’ve been able to publish thanks to the kind cooperation of Anthropologie. The opinions are our own.
Do you agree that this winter has been particularly harsh? Even in footwear fashion, it’s like the past few months have been a never-ending onslaught of ugly boots, over-embellished heels, and resurrections of frankenshoes. Winter may be associated with white, but we’re left feeling like this season’s slate of shoe styles needs to be wiped clean.
What cleared it up for us are the new shoe arrivals over at Anthropologie. After all the sporty aesthetics, tough street styles, and hard hip-hop influences, the new-in shoes’ vintage styles feel like a breath of fresh air. The simple, clean silhouettes are cleansing, and the barely-there color palette is exactly the visual calm our eyes have been looking for. Not to mention, — and probably the best thing about them — the heels are in lax chunky shapes and very forgiving flat to mid-heel heights.
Going through the new shoe styles has gotten us dreaming of the time when we can roll up our leg cuffs and just mindlessly slip into a pair of easy-wearing shoes like so:
Meadow Rue “Clipdot” Peasant Top, $118, and Pilcro “Hyphen” Railroad-Stripe Chinos, $118
Anthropologie Lien.Do Collection “Amorzao” Slingback Sandals, $178
All Black Tux Sneakers, $145, and All Black Pointed Leather Sneakers, $138
We can’t wait to go back to the basics. Maybe even do a little throwback in a dress with a ’90s-inspired daisy print like this one:
Horses Atelier “Desert Bloom” Midi Dress, $565
Jeffrey Campbell “Ellery” Sandal Booties, $178
We also can’t wait to bring out our white dresses. Pair them with nude sandal booties, and they’ll go virtually anywhere.
Moulinette Soeurs “Poema” Lace Dress, $228
Kelsi Dagger “Brasilia” Sandal Booties, $150
Holding Horses “Leonor” Shirtdress, $188, and Anthropologie “Janela” Belt, $58
Splendid “Janna” Sandal Booties, $148
And when the weather gets a little warmer, we’ll start dreaming of sun-kissed vacations where we can wear our prettiest strappy sandals.
Amadi “Malva” Tank Top, $98, and Beguile by Byron Lars “Petal” Patch Maxi Skirt, $298
Nina Payne “Sosa” Sandals, $276
But who are we kidding? When we do get to our dream destination, we’d most likely have packed only a pair flats into our over-stuffed luggage. Thankfully, Anthropologie’s got our backs with these versatile yet chic styles:
Elevenses “Amapa” Jumpsuit, $158
Nina Payne “Kotze” Sandals, $218
Leifsdottir “Girafa” Jacket, $148, HD in Paris Linen Cargo Shorts, $78, and Beracamy Paris “Viagem” Hobo Bag, $398
KMB “Diamantina” Slingback Flatforms, $128
Aerin “Iggy” Pointy-Toe Flats, $238
