Let’s get one thing straight: it was Madonna’s cape and not her shoes that caused her to fall off a flight of stairs on stage at the 2015 BRIT Awards.

Many were quick to blame the shoes Madonna was wearing for her fall, but the 6-inch-heeled strappy pumps are most definitely innocent this time.

In an interview on the Jonathan Ross Show, Madonna identified her Swarovski-crystal-embellished Armani Privé cape as the culprit, saying that she was told to tie custom piece tightly around her neck.

Madonna says, “So here I am marching in like the queen, I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled the silky string and it wouldn’t come undone. My two lovely Japanese dancers, they basically strangled me off the stage. I had two choices, I could either be strangled or fall, and I chose to fall.”

Now that we know for sure that the shoes didn’t cause Madonna’s tumble on stage, we can fully appreciate their sexy black satin and red-heeled beauty.

The shoes have triple buckled straps, a lace-up front, and stud embellishments mimicking the design on Madonna’s matador-inspired Armani Privé pants and Nicolas Jebran bolero jacket.

They are said to be Christian Louboutin, but we don’t see the signature red bottoms. The shoelaces and the block heels, though, look to be in the Pantone Chinese Red color that Louboutin uses.
