Backless loafers aren’t just for dads anymore.

We’ve recently spotted several celebrities rocking the style out in public, despite the fact that we may have previously condemned this shoe style to a future life as a house shoe.

However, Kirsten Dunst is looking to prove us wrong. The actress was spotted wearing a pair of backless Princetown loafers out in West Hollywood on March 2.

The 33-year-old Fargo actress was radiant as she stopped for a coffee break at Alfred Coffee while wearing a golden floral dress and creme cardigan.

Although the dress is from Prada’s 2000 Fall runway collection, the vibrant colors and vintage style make this ensemble timeless.

Kirsten played up the modest, old-fashioned vibes of her look with an off-white sweater, a leather Louis Vuitton Vivienne purse, and dark brown Oliver Peoples Lou sunnies.

She completed her laid-back springtime ensemble with minimal makeup and straight hair.

The Interview with the Vampire actress finished off her look with a pair of black Gucci “Princetown” mule loafers. These backless leather loafers feature a sleek, slip-on silhouette, a small heel, and Gucci’s signature golden horse-bit hardware.

We love the bright and vintage look of the dress/sweater combination, but we’re a bit unsettled by her choice of footwear.

Granted this style is making a comeback whether we’re ready or not, but there’s just something about these Gucci slippers that seem a bit too old-man-like for an afternoon of shopping in such an otherwise charming ensemble.
