Disenchanted, the sequel to the 2007 American live-action/animated musical fantasy romantic comedy film Enchanted, is scheduled to be released on November 24, 2022, as a Disney+ exclusive film.

Enchanted premiered on October 20, 2007, at the London Film Festival, when Amy Adams was 33 years old. Her co-star, Patrick Dempsey, is 8 years older and turned 41 on January 13, 2007.

“Working again with Disney has been like coming home,” Disenchanted’s director Adam Shankman said in a press release in May 2021.

“With Amy [Adams] and this extraordinary cast, Alan [Menken] and Stephen [Schwartz]’s mind-blowing new score, and Barry [Josephson] and Disney’s support, I just hope to bring magic and joy to audiences around the world.”

Disney has revealed that Disenchanted will be set “15 years later, Giselle moves to the suburb of Monroeville with Robert and their teenage daughter Morgan, where she must juggle the challenges that come with a new home and discover what happily ever after truly means to her and her new family.”

Other actors who were considered for the role of cynical Manhattan divorce attorney Robert Philip include James Marsden, Val Kilmer, Keanu Reeves, Edward Norton, Sean Penn, and Charlie Sheen.

Patrick Dempsey says he will make his singing debut in the upcoming Enchanted sequel. He barely did any singing in the original film.

“I will be singing for the first time,” Dempsey told Variety, adding that he’ll also be dancing. “I’ve never ever sung publicly — for a reason. So, bear with me.”

“I hope the fans embrace it. But they’ve set me up for success and the lyrics are really fun. The numbers have really great choreography. And the premise is going to be interesting,” he added.

In early April 2022, Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey were spotted filming Disenchanted in New York City.

James Marsden and Idina Menzel will also reprise their roles from the first film. Newcomers include Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Kolton Stewart, Oscar Nuñez, and Gabby Baldacchino.

Rachel Covey, who portrayed Robert’s six-year-old daughter Morgan Philip in the original, will not return for the sequel.

“There’s a lot more singing and a lot more dancing — which was humbling,” Adams said about the sequel Disenchanted on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in September 2021.

“The last time I really danced as much as I’m required to dance in this, I was, like, in my 20s. And now I’m not in my 20s. It feels different in your 40s,” she laughed. When the film is released on November 24, 2022, she will be 48, and her co-star Patrick Dempsey will be 56.

“In my heart I look like I’m in my 20s when I’m dancing and then I would watch playback and be like, ‘Whoa, that’s not the same.’”

In April 2016, Amy Adams absolutely shone on the red carpet of the Annenberg Space for Photography as she helped promote the center’s latest photo exhibit “Refugee.”

The photo exhibit highlighted the work of photographers who have captured the lives of refugees across different countries.

Amy may have looked golden on the red carpet, but the photo exhibit she was promoting was anything but.

While global refugee crises aren’t lighthearted or jovial, they’re certainly important to highlight so as to raise awareness and support for victims of displacement.

Amy wore a gorgeous blue fitted dress from Dolce & Gabbana, which complemented her hair and eye color.

The actress wore a bracelet and rings from Irene Neuwirth, and paired her jewelry with a gold pair of reptile print-embossed “Bond” pumps by Kurt Geiger.
