If you become the ambassador of an incredibly timeless brand like Swarovski, the first thing on your agenda should probably be learning how to pronounce the brand name properly. Unfortunately for Karlie Kloss, she was caught off guard on the day of her first campaign shoot.

Karlie kicked off her Swarovski ambassador duties at the brand’s event in New York.

Karlie wore a black halter dress with waist cutouts by Proenza Schouler and showed off her feet in Giuseppe Zanotti metal heels.

“Karlie is someone young women look up to–her use of social media makes her accessible to a broad audience,” said Swarovski Creative Director Nathalie Colin.

“As a brand, accessibility has always been part of our DNA, and we take every opportunity to get closer to our consumers. Karlie has an innate understanding of the digital world; we can’t wait to leverage her creativity to share inspiring stories about our jewelry.”

Swarovski’s new brand ambassador Karlie Kloss added, “It’s an honor to join the Swarovski family and to be part of the brand’s long history of bringing elegance to women through brilliant, unique designs.”

As the brand ambassador, Karlie was — of course — drenched in luxurious diamonds by the classic Swarovski.

Karlie spent her time posing with celebrity friends while showing off her Swarovski goods.

The tall supermodel was in the middle of introducing herself for her first Swarovski campaign video when she realized she couldn’t pronounce the brand name correctly.

Lucky for her, the team decided to give her a break since she looked really adorable doing it… and it turned out to be the selling point of the video. In case you’re wondering, the most common way to pronounce Swarovski is Zwore-off-ski.

You can order the “Taline” wedge sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti — which are pretty similar to Karlie’s pair — at Farfetch.
