In a new interview with The Independent, Naomie Harris criticized the “disturbing” amount of coverage the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial received.

“It’s hard not to have followed that case because it was so rammed down our throats every day,” Naomie said. She starred with Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean as Tia Dalma.

Late last month, she attended the BFI Chair’s Fellowship Dinner in a red satin dress from London-based fashion designer David Koma featuring a strong shoulder, a high neck, a single open sleeve, and handmade 3D crystal crocodile embroidery.

She showed off her feet in Christian Louboutin’s Just Queen 100 crystal-embellished PVC and leather mules that you can buy at Nordstrom, Ssense, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Mytheresa.

Made from snake-effect leather, Christian Louboutin’s Just Queen sandals are set on 100mm heels and feature crystal-embellished narrow straps.

“It was all over social media, all over the news, everywhere. I think there’s something quite disturbing about that, actually, because there are some serious events happening in the world that deserve much greater airtime than they’re having because this kind of thing is being aired,” she stated about the defamation trial between her co-star Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard.

“I don’t understand why, with something that should have been a very private case between two people, the whole world was allowed access to it,” Naomie argued.

“I find it really bizarre and problematic. We televised that but not Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial, which is much more relevant and important. I have real issues with that.”

“It’s way more powerful than one particular case and one individual,” Naomie said of the impact of the trial on the #MeToo movement.

“It has a momentum that will not be derailed, it’s too entrenched. It will continue. Changes as a result of the MeToo movement are in place now.”

In April 2016, Naomie Harris made a serious entrance at the Ours Restaurant launch held in London. The then-39-year-old actress wore a bright orange Kate Spade dress, which perfectly complemented her complexion.

Her electric dress featured cape sleeves and a softly pleated ruffled hem that fell just below her knees.

Miss Moneypenny kept the jewelry to a bare minimum, accessorizing with only a black Edie Parker box clutch and a pair of strappy heels.

She painted her nails white and completed her look with simple makeup and a tousled ‘do.

Naomie’s sandals toughened up her ultra-feminine frock. They featured open toes, asymmetric straps, Velcro-fastening ankle-wrap straps, and about four-inch heels.
