Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones all starred in the 2016 Ghostbusters movie, a reboot of the original 1984 film. The actresses played the roles of paranormal researchers who team up to save New York City from a supernatural threat.
Kate McKinnon is the shortest of the four actresses, with a height of 5ft 3 ½ (161.3 cm), followed by Melissa McCarthy, who is 5ft 2 (157.5 cm), then Kristen Wiig, with a height of 5ft 5 ½ (166.4 cm), while Leslie Jones is the tallest among them with a height of 6ft 0 (182.9 cm).
The average height for an American woman is approximately 5ft 4in (162.6 cm), so Kate McKinnon is slightly shorter than average, Melissa McCarthy is also slightly shorter than average, Kristen Wiig is slightly taller than average, and Leslie Jones is significantly taller.

Initially intended for Melissa McCarthy, the character of Patty Tolan, portrayed by Leslie Jones, was ultimately given to Jones by Paul Feig.
Feig acknowledged that McCarthy had already portrayed comparable characters in his earlier films and felt that Jones deserved a chance to shine in a showy role, much like how McCarthy was allowed to showcase her talents in the 2011 American comedy film Bridesmaids.
“Actually, when Katie [Dippold, Feig’s co-writer] and I wrote the script, we had written the role with Melissa in mind,” Paul Feig told Empire.
“I don’t normally like comedy that’s big and loud, but she is able to pull that off in a way that feels real and it’s her,” he added.

“And when I make a movie, I want to find the funniest people I know and once I know what’s the funniest thing about them I want that to be the thing that I put on screen and let shine. This is the role that Leslie can shine comedically in. If you’ve ever seen her do stand-up, it’s just who she is. I wanted to unleash Leslie on the public in the same way we unleashed Melissa on the public in Bridesmaids, with a very showy role.”

The then-45-year-old actress channeled her usually playful self in a black-and-white graffiti-print midi dress. The long-sleeved dress featured a cinched waist, highlighting her trimmed-down waistline.
The comedienne opted for minimal accessories, wearing only a statement ring. She wore her hair down, center-parted, and sported subtle smoky eye makeup.
In addition to director Paul Feig, Melissa was joined by fellow movie stars Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon.
