It’s obvious that Scarlett Johansson is extremely excited for her upcoming animated musical “Sing.”

The actress was all smiles on the red carpet at the movie’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she spoke about her role as a punk rock porcupine.

She also shared how exciting it was to be “behind the scenes,” so to speak, as the voice of the animated character. While it is not the first time her voice has been featured in a movie, it is definitely different from her previous voice-over as Samantha in “Her.”

Scarlett Johansson voices the punk rock porcupine Ash in the North American release of the animated musical Sing and its sequel Sing 2 and TV spots promoting both films.

Despite most of Sing’s songs being covers, Ash (Scarlett Johansson) performs her original composition “Set It All Free” to prove her ex-boyfriend wrong about her songwriting skills.

Sing was Scarlett Johansson’s fourth voice-over role in a film, after The Jungle Book (2016), Her (2013), and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004).

The then-31-year-old star looked radiant in a red Haney mini dress. It was the perfect choice for an animated premiere – soft, chic, and relatively conservative.

Her minimal makeup, gorgeous winged eyeliner, and hairstyle were the perfect accents to complete her look. The whole ensemble was stunning on her.
