These are one of the shoes that split us here at YNS. Many of you had the hots for their 50s retro Cadillac feel but there were also those of you who thought they were more “Hot Wheels”.

The ones above are the ones that are more toy car-like for me but there are so many variations of the Prada flame sandals. Below are some of my favorite. I have to say that I had a hard time narrowing it down to these! :

They kind of look like superhero shoes with their respective team colors when you look at the Prada flame shoes one after the other.

Just like their fiery style, the prices on these retro rocket boosters are also as through the roof. They’re priced in the range of a thousand dollars but what else can we expect from designer shoes?

I could definitely see any of these paired with ...Read more]]> Spring is right around the corner so there’s no longer any shame in searching for bright and fun sandals to spruce up our spring and summer wardrobes. Today I came across the ‘Beserk’ from Two Lips at Zappos and I was so pleased with the three light and bright color options available. Not only does this wedge sandal feature plenty of criss-crossing strap details, it comes in coral, turquoise, and light brown.

I could definitely see any of these paired with a floral print skirt or sundress and a denim jacket for a classic springtime look. They could also work with flared jeans and a peasant top for a relaxed boho feel. I think I’d go for the coral option, but all three are great in my opinion. What do you think? Well, Jessica Simpson is maintaining its ranking in the shoe game by copying from the top trend maker himself: Christian Louboutin. But then again, if there’s anyone to copy from right now it would be Christian Louboutin and no one else.

Here’s the original sandal that Jessica Simpson copied from, the ‘Straratata” from the Christian Louboutin collection dating way back Spring 2010:

And here’s the Jessica Simpson knockoff called the ‘Evangel’, which is brand spankin’ newly arrived and currently only available at the Jessica Simpson Collection website:

There may be slight shade differences in the color but you can see that the Jessica Simpson Evangels get the look of the Christian Louboutin Straratatas completely. The heel is also slightly lower at 4 3/4″ (compared to 5 1/2″ on the CLs) and the platform a bit thicker at 1 2/5″ (compared to 1″), but the overall sexy and vibrant feel to the sandal is not sacrificed.

The one thing Jessica Simpson did change is while the originals are completely suede, the knockoffs have a patent leather trim. But that’s not anything to stop us from getting the look of the Christian Louboutins for less, is it? Unless you don’t like wearing blatant knockoffs, then you can go for these other colors of the Evangels instead:

Red embodies love’s sensual qualities like heat, passion and intensity while pink connotes the more tender qualities like delicateness, sweetness and softness.

I have issues with that unnecessarily fur-trimmed beige coat Jennifer Lopez is wearing (it has fur… in the pleats!) but with the shoes, of course I have none. If there’s one shoe style that Jimmy Choo has got on lock, it’s the jeweled evening sandal. And this Jimmy Choo ‘Kiln’ is the jeweled evening sandal perfected.

These raffia wedges from Senso are none of those things. However, the word “edgy” seems to be the best way to describe them because the way they’re designed makes them stand out among all the other raffia shoes out there.

Set your eyes upon these 3 newly arrived raffia wedges from Senso, all surprisingly edgy yet not studded, not metal-laden, and most of all, NOT black. In fact, they couldn’t be farther from the color black as they boast of bright, juicy prints and light, colorful pastels on their chiffon fabric and kid suede uppers.

You can see for yourself how very spring-worthy this Senso Saba wedge is but the way the raffia is used to cover the wedge heel kicks its style up a few notches:

The combination of the raffia with a wooden platform is also another spring/summer detail but perforated straps make them more uncommon like on this Senso Salina wedge:

Zoe has an amazing body and great skin tone, which I wish she had shown off ...Read more]]> The always chic and sexy Zoe Saldana was spotted at the recent SAG Awards wearing a lovely pair of Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and a long white Givenchy Couture gown. While I find myself smitten with Zoe’s shoe choice here, I think she could have chosen a much better dress for the occasion. Let’s take a look at her ensemble.

Do you see what I mean? Zoe has an amazing body and great skin tone, which I wish she had shown off a bit more. While I appreciate the craftsmanship and artistic value of this gown I think Zoe could have done better. Imagine these heels paired with a strapless or even long sleeved black lace gown.  Even a more form fitting nude option would have been more complementary to Zoe’s look here.

I searched high and low for these beautiful shoes with no luck. However, I did find a couple of similar styles from Giuseppe Zanotti that would be great for evening wear and formal occasions. Check ‘em out.

I found these lovely metallic Mary Janes at Saks Fifth Avenue. I could see these paired with several colors such as black, red, or white. They would work with evening gowns as well as cocktail dresses or maybe a pair of fun shimmery pants.

This is also a very similar and fun style. I would love to see Zoe in this style paired with a black or turquoise dress. They would also look nice with black skinny trousers or even denim.
