Well, Jessica Simpson is maintaining its ranking in the shoe game by copying from the top trend maker himself: Christian Louboutin. But then again, if there’s anyone to copy from right now it would be Christian Louboutin and no one else.

Here’s the original sandal that Jessica Simpson copied from, the ‘Straratata” from the Christian Louboutin collection dating way back Spring 2010:

And here’s the Jessica Simpson knockoff called the ‘Evangel’, which is brand spankin’ newly arrived and currently only available at the Jessica Simpson Collection website:

There may be slight shade differences in the color but you can see that the Jessica Simpson Evangels get the look of the Christian Louboutin Straratatas completely. The heel is also slightly lower at 4 3/4″ (compared to 5 1/2″ on the CLs) and the platform a bit thicker at 1 2/5″ (compared to 1″), but the overall sexy and vibrant feel to the sandal is not sacrificed.

The one thing Jessica Simpson did change is while the originals are completely suede, the knockoffs have a patent leather trim. But that’s not anything to stop us from getting the look of the Christian Louboutins for less, is it? Unless you don’t like wearing blatant knockoffs, then you can go for these other colors of the Evangels instead:

There are some very slight differences in appearance, but generally both look pretty much alike, save for the fact that the Vadio comes with an all-leather upper. In fact, some may even think the Aamina is a better version, with its colors more vibrant and happy, and its silhouette more balanced.

Just a quick look back, some of the popular shoe trends last 2011 were high ...Read more]]> We don’t have a shoe feature for you this wonderful first day of the year, but what we have instead are some fun future shoe trend predictions. These aren’t based on anything official except on what we expect and would personally like to see on shoes. Feel free to add to these and share what you would like to be a hot shoe trend this 2012!

Just a quick look back, some of the popular shoe trends last 2011 were high heel loafers, cutout platforms and retro 70s styles. Others that were not as popular were rigid flatforms, almost heel-less, extremely inward-curved wedges and actually heel-less shoes.

One trend from last year that we’re still crazy about and still hoping to see more of this year is the ultra-comfortable yet ultra-stylish fashion sneaker:

We also hope to see some more wedges because wedges are the most comfortable height-enhancing shoes EVER:

So when I spotted the ‘Match’ and fell in love with the awesome linear color-blocking and lovely platform I wasn’t surprised to see the Jessica Simpson label.

I really like all three color options of the ‘Match’, but the burnt red would be the first to make it into my closet. I could see them with cuffed denim and a white peasant inspired top for a casual but chic look. Jessica Simpson herself was spotted wearing the nude combo option on a date with her fiance a while ago.

I’m talking about celebrities in black lace dresses and bright colored heels. Well, Brooklyn Decker and Nina Dobrev to be more specific.

Last week, both ladies went to two different events on the same night (December 10) – Brooklyn to Spike TV’s 2011 Video  Game Awards, and Nina to the “Ripple Effect” benefit. Both wore black lace – Brooklyn in Nah Khanh and Nina in Monique Lhuillier, and coincidentally, both wore bright colored heels to complete their looks – Brooklyn in bright yellow Choos and Nina in hot pink Atwoods:

You have to admit, pairing brights with black lace is rather unexpected, don’t you think? It’s a combination that is completely unconventional so you really can’t help but wonder if it’s a trend that’s pushing these two ladies to wear it on the red carpet. What do you think? And what can you say about the mix? Would you wear bright pumps with your black lace dress?

Personally, I don’t think I can. Yeah, I’m a bit of a bore when it comes to that. But really, I seriously think there’s something about black lace that requires it to be paired with shoes in more classic or neutral shades.
