I don’t know what’s going on. Who started this design and why aren’t they mad that so many brands have ripped it off?

Did someone sell or supply this design to different shoe brands, only caring about making a lot of money and not about originality, patents and copyrights?

Did these shoe brands talk amongst themselves and decided to collectively release this design all at the same time?
