As I am writing this article, I am also trying to steal quick glances at the TV,  Miss Universe is on you see.  I guess it’s a good thing that I’m watching because it gave me a topic to write on – Nina Footwear.

Nina is officially Miss Universe famous. It’s the official footwear sponsor for this year’s pageant. I was able to catch a look at the sandals they provided to the beauties for their swimsuit showcase and it looked a lot like this pair from Nina called Tuesday, except, the ones they wore had black platforms and heels, a pewter colored upper, and only 2 straps crossing at the front instead of 4.

Maybe Nina created something exclusive for the pageant or maybe it’s a really fresh one that’s not out yet because I couldn’t find it in the Nina website, nor was I able to find it at Zappos, Shoebuy, or Shoes.com.

Good job avoiding the crevices Beyonce, but I wonder what happens when she has to walk to some place where the flat stone path doesn’t go? If I were her, I would ask my burly bodyguards to create a seat with their arms and carry me around in it because y’know, I’m Beyonce and I can do things like that.

Anyway, I’m actually not 100% sure (maybe just 90% sure) that Beyonce’s camo booties are from her Dereon clothing line. My only basis is that she wore the booties in the pictures for the brand’s new ad campaign:

I know these are already very good references, but she could be just modelling Dereon dresses and not shoes for all I know.

Come to think of it, we don’t really see much of Beyonce in Dereon or even House of Dereon stuff. Not like Fergie or Gwen Stefani, who wear as much of their Fergie and L.A.M.B. shoe and clothing lines as possible.

Heidi Klum vs. Hilary Duff

It’s the battle of the blondes whose names start with H here:

Heidi Klum was seen making her way through the JFK airport last July 30 with her kids Leni, Henry, Johan and baby Lou in tow. They were on their way to France and are currently enjoying a nice family holiday in Nice.

Heidi was always the head turner in a sexy all-black outfit accentuated with the Isabel Marant Dampa Boots in grey. Heidi wore her boots folded over, mid-calf and slouchy, just like the way it was styled on the Isabel Marant Spring 2010 runway.

Hilary Duff wore her Isabel Marant Dampa Boots when she went out to dinner at Katsuya with her mom and her fiance Mike Comrie last May 28. She wore them with a grey cardigan and grey leggings for the shoes-same-color-as-legs look she seems to be very fond of.

Hilary chose to wear to her boots unfolded, straightened and stretched up to below-the-knee. Makes a stark difference, but the black leather buckled straps around the ankle on these canvas boots still identify them as Isabel Marants.

Givenchy Studded Booties – Spring 2010 cream version

Remember when a post about the fierce Fall 2009/Spring 2010 Givenchy Studded Booties inspired a search for shoes like the Givenchy Studded Booties but ended up not being totally successful?

Well now I have something better. It’s practically the incarnate – and NOT total knockoffs – of the Givenchys. Presenting, the Lorissa Pumps from Sam Edelman:

Imagine the number of heads turned, the number of conversation started, and the number of people stopped on the street when you wear these shoes.

These pumps also have the snakeskin embossed leather like the Givenchys by the way, in case you missed it in the images above:

The embellishments are also a mix of spikes, studs and sparkly stones also just like the Givenchys.

These pumps may bear these resemblances to the Givenchy Studded Booties but I like that their similarities end there. As much as I love the original, I’m not looking for a complete and total copy and would be very happy wearing these “inspired by” shoes if  I couldn’t have the authentic Givenchys at all. (Just a side note, I’m going admit that I don’t feel this way about all designer shoes and I’m only like this about these Givenchy Studded Booties because I have much respect for the genius of Ricardo Tisci.)

I positively swooned over these pink sandals Rachel Bilson was seen wearing to catch a movie last Friday night. It’s about time we saw fun, colorful sandals worn in the summer!

I love playful footwear like these. They really make any boring outfit look fun, don’t they? Rachel Bilson’s plain grey sweater + black jacket + skinny jeans oufit would look so ordinary if she wore it with any ol’ pair of shoes, but suddenly looks young, fresh and even charming with those bright pink sandals with a burst of huge flower blossoms.

As I was more wowed by the price tag on the $155,000 Eternal Borgezie Gold and Diamond Stilettos than anything else on it, I promised to search for shoes that are just as sparkly but had more to offer design-wise in a next post. So here I am delivering on that promise and by god, did I find a TON of sparkly gold and faux diamond shoes.

I’m not surprised why there are so many. Gold, diamonds and shoes are three of women’s most favorite things in the world so to combine them in a single design is like the holy grail of shoes (again, see the Borgezie stilettos). I think any woman who has ever shopped for a pair of formal/semi-formal shoes can also attest to that; sparkly gold shoes abound and run aplenty in those departments of any woman’s shoe store.

So needless to say, I found more gold shoes encrusted with rhinestones, crystals, beads, metallic studs, glitter and everything else sparkly than I could ever care for. I have no better way of presenting them to you other than by categorizing them according to price, but I did make sure of one thing: you could get the same (blah) look of the Borgezie stilettos or even better for much, much, MUCH less with these shoes.

Jessica Biel was certainly a breath of fresh air when she attended the 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards a few days ago. The pop of color she brought on with her printed Diane Von Furstenberg long gown earned her more than just a few nods from fashion critics.

I love how the T strap looks more like a loop, and how it is intertwined with the loop straps on the sides; very interesting concept if you ask me. The pointed vamp and gold pointed platforms also make it look unique, nothing like your usual.

It took me a bit of time to ID the sandals. It’s a pair from Oscar de la Renta’s Pre-Fall 2010 Collection, as seen on model Soshebe Griffiths when she walked the ODLR runway in the same shoes.

I have no clue yet as to how much a pair will cost you, but expect it to run between US$600 to US$900, though it could be more. I did make an attempt to find a similar looking pair but as expected, I found nothing even remotely close.

If getting the look for less is the objective rather than owning a pair of these ODLR sandals, then perhaps the alternatives below will do instead:
