In November 2018, Austin & Ally actress Laura Marano celebrated her 23rd birthday by joining Katherine McNamara at the premiere of Mary Poppins Returns at the Dolby Theatre on Thursday in Hollywood.
She was born on November 29, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, and is the younger sister of “Gilmore Girls” actress Vanessa Marano.

The singer and actress, who had just announced that she’d be performing at The Roxy in February 2019, donned a custom ‘Stafford’ micro gingham check burgundy suit by Indochino paired with black ‘Lovey’ pumps by Steve Madden.

7 years earlier, she made her debut as singer-songwriter Ally Dawson on the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally. She had just turned 16 when the first episode aired on December 2, 2011.

Despite rumors to the contrary, she never dated or married her co-star Ross Lynch in real life.
“[Laura and I] are kind of like a married couple,” Lynch told J-14 in October 2013. “We argue a lot about who is always right. That happens a lot on set. We’re really friendly, help each other out, and have each other’s backs on set.”
“I think it’s super sweet,” Marano said during a segment for the HollywoodLife podcast about the dating rumors.
In the season finale of Austin & Ally, it is revealed that Austin Moon (Ross Lynch) is married to Ally Dawson (Laura Marano) and they have two children named Alex and Ava.
“Ross and I have talked about this too. I think fans of other things as well, like Titanic and The Notebook, when you see two characters together and you think they’re really cute together, obviously you want them to date in real life. I love that they love Austin and Ally so much that they see it in real life as well!”

“I think it’s a very much because we are very professional,” Laura said about not wanting to date Ross Lynch.
“I know for me — I’ve been acting since I was 5 — I’ve always been taught that you really should never date a costar while you’re working with someone because then you can get together then not get together. Can you imagine?”
“Ross and I — and everyone on the show — we all agreed on. You really don’t date costars when you work with them,” she added.
Although they’re not dating, Ross Lynch and Laura Marano are reportedly good friends in real life.
