Scarlett Johansson is 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm). In interviews, she has mentioned different heights, stating in one instance that she is 5 feet 4 inches while her twin brother is 6 feet 3 inches.

However, she has also expressed a desire to be taller, stating that she is “5-foot-4 on a good day” and mentioning her 5 feet 3 inches frame in more recent interviews.

While rumored to have big feet, Scarlett Johansson reportedly wears a shoe size 8.5 (US), which is fairly average for women in the US.

Contrary to the whispers, her shoe size does not deviate dramatically from the norm and complements her overall stature and frame.

“Since dedicating myself to getting into ‘superhero shape,’ several articles regarding my weight have been brought to my attention. Claims have been made that I’ve been on a strict workout routine regulated by co-stars, whipped into shape by trainers I’ve never met, eating sprouted grains I can’t pronounce and ultimately losing 14 pounds off my 5’3” frame,” Scarlett wrote in an essay for The Huffington Post in 2009.

“Losing 14 pounds out of necessity in order to live a healthier life is a huge victory. I’m a petite person to begin with, so the idea of my losing this amount of weight is utter lunacy. If I were to lose 14 pounds, I’d have to part with both arms. And a foot. I’m frustrated with the irresponsibility of tabloid media who sell the public ideas about what we should look like and how we should get there,” she added about her height and weight.

Why did Scarlett Johansson almost quit acting?

During an episode of Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast in October 2022, Scarlett Johansson shared her experience of feeling that her career would be short-lived due to being “hypersexualized” by the industry at a young age.

The actress expressed that she had been subjected to objectification and being typecast into specific roles, making her uncertain about her ability to portray diverse characters.

“I kind of became objectified and pigeonholed in this way where I felt like I wasn’t getting offers for work for things that I wanted to do,” Johansson said.

“I remember thinking to myself, ‘I think people think I’m 40 years old.’ It somehow stopped being something that was desirable and something that I was fighting against.”

“I think everybody thought I was older and that I’d been [acting] for a long time, I got kind of pigeonholed into this weird hypersexualized thing,” Johansson continued.

“I felt like [my career] was over. It was like: that’s the kind of career you have, these are the roles you’ve played. And I was like, ‘This is it?’”

“I see younger actors that are in their 20s, it feels like they’re allowed to be all these different things,” Johansson said.

“It’s another time, too. We’re not even allowed to really pigeonhole other actors anymore, thankfully, right? People are much more dynamic.”
