2017 was a big year for Meghan Markle. Not only did she announce her engagement to Prince Harry, but she also caught everyone’s attention with her impeccable style. Meghan consistently stepped out in effortlessly sophisticated looks, as in her ultra chic ensemble during the Terrence Higgins Trust World AIDS Day charity fair last month.

She ended the year with a classic look as she attended Christmas Day church service with the British royal family. Both Prince Harry and Prince William looked dapper in their suits as they fought off the cold in style. As for the Duchess of Cambridge, she taught a masterclass in dressing up for the occasion while also having fun with fashion. Kate Middleton stood out in her Miu Miu tartan peacoat, a black Lacorine fur hat, a Mulberry clutch, black stockings and her favorite Tod’s pumps.

Meanwhile, Meghan donned a luxurious monochromatic outfit that may be a bit too classic for the young soon-to-be bride. She wore the “Tay” velvet wrap dress from Club Monaco under a Sentaler long coat with a wide collar and a belted waist. Her stunning wrap coat also has two square pockets, a fit-and-flare vented hem, and the brand’s signature ribbed detail at the cuffs.

She accessorized with a brown Philip Treacy hat, which caused quite a frenzy online and became the subject of a multitude of memes. Meghan also styled her look with the Chloe “Pixie” shoulder bag ($1,490 at Net-A-Porter), Dents brown leather gloves (available at Amazon), and Birks white gold and diamond earrings from the Snowflake collection (available at Maison Birks). She finished off her look with brown over-the-knee boots from Stuart Weitzman, which you can get for $798 at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales.
