Sloan Sabbitht, the Senior Financial Reporter for News Night, first appeared in “News Night 2.0,” the 2nd episode of Season 1, and made her final appearance in “What Kind of Day Has It Been,” the sixth and final episode of the third season.
During the Newsroom panel at PaleyFest, Aaron Sorkin disclosed that the character of Sloan Sabbith was originally intended to have a smaller role. Still, he made her more integral to the story as the show developed.
The Newsroom: The Age Difference Between the Characters
When The Newsroom premiered on HBO on June 24, 2012, Jeff Daniels, who played the lead character Will McAvoy, was 57 years old. Emily Mortimer, portraying Mackenzie McHale, was 40 years old.
