Despite earning her spot in Hollywood through highly sexualized roles, Salma Hayek is anything but in real life.

The actress was not afraid to speak her mind on Donald Trump’s recent comments regarding undocumented immigrants, stating that she was not insulted because his statement was based on stupidity.

”What’s sad is how easily people are manipulated,” she told the LA Times. “I’m not insulted because I cannot be insulted by stupidity.

“Everybody’s entitled to have uninformed opinion. Everybody’s entitled to be dumb. But I’m not dumb, so I see through the manipulation. We have something to learn from this.

“That is that the educated people or the people with great human values have to wake up, because they are under the illusion that most of this country is like them and sometimes they don’t even go to vote.”

Salma has also been a long-time advocate for women and children and chose to produce an animated version of Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet in her bid to educate and inspire children to think.

The star was photographed at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, in which she also voiced a character.
