Alesha Dixon rose to fame as a part of the singing group Mis-Teeq and has since become a household name as a TV personality. She made her first TV appearance as a Strictly Come Dancing contestant in 2007.

The English singer was later invited to be a judge the following season after winning the contest. This was just the beginning of her TV career, as she went on rising to fame as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

Her next big step was an invitation to be a judge on season two of AGT: The Champions, a spin-off of America’s Got Talent.

Judge for AGT: The Champion’s

Alesha was a fresh addition to the America’s Got Talent judging panel for the second season of AGT: The Champions.

The show premiered in 2020, and the singer sat alongside Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum and was hosted by Terry Crews.

Dixon took Mel B’s place on the show’s judging panel with a blessing from the Spice Girls legend.

She was a fun and fresh take on the show’s judging panel and displayed warmth and depth to her critiques that enchanted fans and contestants alike. The British TV personality was excited to cross over to American TV shows.

She had this to say about her transition to American TV: “Getting to work on such a brilliant show and fast track my way to getting to know the American audience has been wonderful,” Dixon says. “This is exactly where I want to be.”

The next step for Alesha Dixon

She was a wonderful addition to the AGT spin-off’s panel of judges. While there were rumors that she would be the latest addition to America’s Got Talent judges panel, it was not to be.

Dixon gained popularity with viewers during her time as a judge on AGT: The Champions amidst controversy on Julianne Hough’s and Gabrielle Union’s axing from AGT’s season fourteen judges panel.

Sofia Vergara beat out Dixon for a seat on AGT’s judge’s panel. Heidi Klum returned to the show for the fifteenth season, fulfilling the remaining judge’s seat.

After AGT: The Champions, Dixon was invited to be a judge on Australia’s Got Talent for season ten. She was also a fan favorite on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK as a guest judge in 2021.

Dixon never was a judge on AGT, but she is “definitely a cup-half-full kind of person” and will be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent’s fifteenth season, which is set to premiere in later 2022.
