Not only did Bella Hadid stun at the 2016 Grammys, but she also made waves after the fact. Post-celebration, the model uploaded an adorable shoutout to her boyfriend, The Weeknd, who took home two trophies at the award ceremony.
“This is YOUR day baby! I’m so proud of you ❤️I feel so lucky to be by your side,” she wrote to the Canadian musician on Instagram.

The then 19-year-old model, who is four and a half years younger than her boyfriend, wore a sexy jewel-studded creation by Alexandre Vauthier, which she styled with a clutch and jewelry from Bvlgari, as well as a pair of ankle-strap sandals from Alexander Wang.
Bella and Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, known professionally as The Weeknd, officially were first spotted dating at Coachella in 2015.

“They were hanging out in Coachella and were flirting lots,” a source told E! Online.
“They have many things in common and really enjoyed each other’s company. She loves his music as well. They are hanging out for sure now.” While they had met briefly before, the annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, was “where they really clicked.”

In an October 2015 interview with Rolling Stone, The Weeknd revealed that they originally connected when he asked Hadid to be on the artwork for his second studio album Beauty Behind the Madness.
“My motive was literally to work with her,” he admitted. While disappointed when she declined, “I was like, ‘All right, cool—we can meet up face-to-face.’”
Bella later agreed to star as a waitress at a seedy nightclub in The Weeknd’s music video for his single, “In the Night.”

“It was a big night for him,” she told Glamour about attending the event with her boyfriend. “He has worked so hard, and he did so well that night. As a girlfriend, I wanted to be there to support him. Seeing him so happy when he won a Grammy made me so happy.”

According to People, The Weeknd and Bella Hadid broke up in late 2016 due to scheduling conflicts.
“Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album,” a source told the magazine. “They still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends.”
Just weeks after splitting, they reunited at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. “This is his second year performing, and I think he’s going to kill it,” she rather unconvincingly told E! News about their encounter.
“There is no awkwardness. He is my best friend, and I am excited because I am walking during his performance.”
