Yellowstone, a rating smash on the Paramount Network, followed the Dutton family as they work through many decades to keep the authority they’ve accumulated in a little Montana town.
To contrast the contemporary sett Yellowstone with more classic Wild West storytelling, it was natural that the first sequel would take place in the past, as shown in 1883.
The story followed the Dutton family’s forebears as they traversed the country in a wagon train. Similarly, this series examined the resilience of family ties in the face of a generational shift.

If you’ve been following the success of the “Yellowstone” spinoff series “1883” since it debuted in late 2021, you know that the Western period piece has evolved into a great hit.
The series featured notable guest stars, but its primary cast, spearheaded by country music icons Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, is just as spectacular.
We researched so you don’t have to, and here is all you need to know about the actors from the hit series 1883 and how tall they are.
1-2. Tim McGraw (James) and Faith Hill (Margaret Dutton) – 5ft 10 (177.8 cm) and 5ft 8 (172.7 cm)
Although Kevin Costner‘s John Dutton was already a famous figure before “Yellowstone,” the creators raised the stakes when casting his ancestors, James, and Margaret Dutton.
In the roles of the older Duttons, the producers cast country music legends Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. Acting in “1883” has given the couple, who are also partners in real life, an opportunity to explore their relationship in novel ways.

Before they started dating, Hill had already gotten engaged. She stood by her choice to leave her groom-to-be for Tim McGraw. The two have been together for decades now, so clearly, it was the right one.

They’ve already established themselves as a dynamic combination in the music industry, having released some duets together before they started acting.
3. Sam Elliott (Shea Brennan) – 6ft 1 (185.4 cm)
Hollywood legend Sam Elliott played the role of Shea Brennan, a cowboy whom the Dutton family trusted to lead them from Texas to Montana.
This renowned Western actor’s recent cowboy role was a perfect fit for his reputation as a formidable wagon train leader.

In private life, the 78-year-old actor is married to “The Graduate” star Katharine Ross, who won a Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year for her performance as Elaine Robinson. They married in 1984 and have a grown daughter, musician Cleo Rose Elliott.
Sam Elliott’s family has been living at a Malibu coast ranch since the late 1970s and has a property in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. His mother passed away in 2012, and since then, he has acquired her Portland home.
4. Isabel May (Elsa Dutton) – 5ft 8 ½ (174 cm)
Elsa Dutton, the eldest child and only daughter of James and Margaret Dutton, was played by the 5ft 8 ½ (174 cm) tall actress Isabel May.
Elsa’s riding style in the drama suggests that she was taught the English method of horseback riding rather than the more familiar Western style.

At age 22, Isabel May hardly seemed older than her on-screen teen self. Known for her roles in “Alexa and Katie” and “Young Sheldon,” the young actress also starred as the protagonist Zoe Hull in “Run Hide Fight,” a film by The Daily Wire.
Little is known about her family life because she prefers to keep it private. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old actress was previously said to be dating Barrett Carnahan, her former co-star on the Netflix series “Alexa & Katie.”
However, the couple broke up long ago since Carnahan was already married to Nina Kubicki.
5. Eric Nelsen (Ennis) – 5ft 8 (172.7 cm)
In the show’s first few episodes, Eric Nelsen’s character, Ennis, a gentle-hearted cowboy, was able to quickly win Elsa’s affection and win her over to his side. The unfortunate storyline of Eric’s character was cut short about halfway through the first season.

Eric Nelsen has appeared in cameos on several TV shows, including “The Good Wife” and “iCarly.” The Tony Award–winning actor (for producing “The Inheritance”) also has four Daytime Emmys (for creating “The Bay”) under his belt.
Since their 2013 wedding, the actor and his actress wife, Sainty Reid, have two children: a daughter named Molly, born in 2019, and a son named Mick, born in 2021. Nelsen’s wife is an Emmy and Tony winner, an avid “Yellowstone” fan, and a proud wife.
6. Audie Rick (John Dutton Sr.) – 3′ 9½″ (1.16 m)
John Dutton Sr., the youngest of the “1883” Duttons and the future father of John from “Yellowstone,” is just as cute in fiction as in real life.
Audie Rick, born on December 20, 2015, in California, is a child actor who played a young John Dutton Sr. in a series on Paramount+.

At age 5, Audie Rick made his acting debut in 2019’s “Kenobi: A Star Wars Story” as Luke Skywalker and in 2021’s “1883” as John Dutton Sr. in his first television series appearance.
The 3 feet and 9.5 inches (1.16 m) tall actor has also worked as a model and social media influencer for Paloma Model and Talent and appeared in ads for clients like Daisy Sour Cream and Disney Shopping & Retail.
7. LaMonica Garrett (Pinkerton Thomas) – 6ft 2 ½ (189.2 cm)
Pinkerton Thomas, portrayed by LaMonica Garrett, is another member of the Dutton family’s support group that traveled with them throughout the country.
In addition to his notable appearances on “Sons of Anarchy” and “The Last Ship,” LaMonica Garrett has starred in several other successful television series, including Garrett’s Secret Service work on “Designated Survivor” and his role as the all-seeing Monitor in the CW’s DC universe.

Even though LaMonica Garrett’s character, Thomas, fell in love with the newly widowed Noemi in “1883,” the actor is a devoted spouse in real life. On April 27, 2017, LaMonica Garrett married his long-term partner, Mina Ivanova, a luxury home real estate agent in Los Angeles.
Garrett and Mina are highly successful in their chosen fields, but outside of work, they are devoted parents to their young son, born in November 2019.
8. Gratiela Brancusi (Noemi) – 5 feet 10 inches (177 cm)
Noemi, a newly widowed lady who has joined the wagon train headed West with her two children, is the breakout role for Romanian actor Gratiela Brancusi in “1883.”
Among her many accomplishments is acting as a hostess at a nightclub in “Mayor of Kingstown” in 2022.

Although Brancusi is currently unmarried, she was formerly married to a well-known artist. She and Tim Robbins, star of “The Shawshank Redemption,” kept their marriage a secret until they revealed their split.
She chose to keep her private life out of the spotlight, as she has no social media accounts despite her fame. Her ex-husband started a charity called The Actor’s Gang, and she is still listed as a member of the organization on her personal Instagram account.
9. Billy Bob Thornton (Jim Courtright) – 5ft 10 (177.8 cm)
In “1883,” Billy Bob Thornton portrayed Marshal Jim Courtright, an ex-criminal who has turned righteous. The murder rate in Fort Worth, Texas, was said to have dropped by more than half thanks to Courtright, a respected lawman in the area.
At the outset of his creative career, Billy Bob Thornton was a musician for the band Tres Hombres, where he played drums and sang. He also starred in “One False Move” (1992), which the 67-year-old actor co-wrote, as well.

The actor has been married six times in his romantic life, including a brief and unsuccessful marriage with Angelina Jolie.
He tied the knot with cosmetics artist Connie Angland in 2014, and the couple has an 18-year-old daughter named Bella. The actor also has three children from his previous marriages.
10. Marc Rissmann (Josef) – 6ft 2 ½ (189.2 cm)
Josef, played by Marc Rissmann, is a German immigrant who took charge of his fellow wagon train passengers in “1883”.

Marc Rissmann began his career as an actor, and he did so by enrolling in the College of Dramatic Arts “Ernst Busch” Berlin. He has also tried his hand at other creative endeavors besides acting, including directing, writing, and producing.
The 43-year-old actor, known for his roles on “Game of Thrones” and “The Man in the High Castle,” was rumored to be dating co-star Ana Ularu, but nothing is confirmed yet.
11-12. Tom Hanks (George Meade) and Rita Wilson (Carolyn) – 5ft 11 ½ (181.6 cm) and 5ft 7 (170.2 cm)
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, an A-list couple, made surprise cameos on the show when creator Taylor Sheridan learned they were “Yellowstone” enthusiasts.
The “Sleepless in Seattle” actor made a brief appearance as a three-star Union commander George Meade in a Civil War flashback sequence with James Dutton. This scene occurred in the time immediately following the Battle of Antietam.

Meanwhile, the singer and actress Rita Wilson portrayed Carolyn, the storekeeper at the general shop in Doan’s Crossing, who served a whiskey punch to Hill’s character Margaret after a long day.
The two actors worked together in the 1985 comedy film “Volunteers” for the first time. They’ve been together for decades, and in 1988 they tied the knot sharing two children named Chet and Truman.
Tom Hanks also has a son named Colin, age 45, and a daughter named Elizabeth, age 40, with his ex-wife Samantha Lewes.
13. Dawn Olivieri (Claire Dutton) – 5ft 8 ½ (174 cm)
Dawn Olivieri was a significant player as Claire Dutton, a member of the central Dutton family. Claire Dutton is Margaret Dutton’s sister-in-law because she is the sister of James Dutton.
The 41-year-old American actress is mostly known for her roles as Monica Talbot on “House of Lies” and Lydia on “Heroes.”
She has been acting professionally since 2004, and her credits include such films and television shows as “American Hustle,” “Den of Thieves,” “The Vampire Diaries,” and “How I Met Your Mother.”

She does not have a significant other at the moment. The actress has been linked to director Bryn Moose and actor Don Cheadle. However, neither side has publicly acknowledged their rumors of a connection.
14. James Landry Hébert (Wade) – 5ft 11 (180.3 cm)
In “1883,” James Landry Hébert played Wade, a no-nonsense cowboy who joined the troupe along with Ennis but is less extroverted.

The actor from Louisiana may have been familiar to you before he was cast as Wade. The roles of Axel in “Stranger Things,” Slim Miller in “Westworld,” and Clem in “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” are just a few of his many fantastic acting credits.
There were rumors that the 5 feet and 11 inches (1.8 m) tall actor was in a serious relationship or married, but it is unknown if this is the case. Not much is known about Hébert’s personal life, including his relationships and family, as he does his best to maintain secrecy.
15. Martin Sensmeier (Sam) – 5ft 11 ½ (181.6 cm)
Martin Sensmeier was Monica’s flirty physical therapist in “Yellowstone.” In “1883,” his fictional character Sam, a Native American Warrior from the Comanche tribe, won the heart of Elsa Dutton.
American actor and producer Martin Sensmeier hails from the Tlingit and Koyukon-Athabascan indigenous communities of Alaska. “The Magnificent Seven,” “Wind River,” and “Westworld” are the three films in which he starred that brought him the most fame.
For the time being, the 5 feet and 11 ½ inches (181.6 cm) tall actor is single. The 37-year-old model has been in at least one past relationship and has never been married.
