Laura Whitmore’s Career on Love Island

Laura Whitmore was chosen as the sixth series presenter of ITV2’s Love Island in 2020. Whitmore made a comeback for the seventh series in June 2021 after Caroline Flack passed away while the show was aired.

Even though Whitmore’s fame predated her hosting the show, her popularity had made her the face of Sunday nights at 10 p.m.

Although she didn’t appear in every episode, the Irish model reportedly made £600,000 ($742,860) for presenting Love Island in 2021, according to The Sun.

Laura Whitmore appeared on screen for barely 11 minutes and 51 seconds, which equates to a pay rate of £50,000 ($61,905) per minute for her work on the primary ITV2 program.

However, the host retaliated against news accounts of the fee. She denied the allegations on Instagram, describing the charges as “nothing but speculation.” She also stated that despite receiving money for his clever work on the show, her husband, Love Island commentator Iain Stirling, “has never had attention” for it.

Laura Whitmore remarked, “Firstly, Iain has never had attention on money he earns. Why don’t we like women earning money?” She added, “I bloody wish I earned what was written in the press! I only get paid days I work.”

On August 2022, Whitmore revealed on social media that she would stop presenting Love Island. Her new endeavors, which conflicted with her dedication to Love Island, were one of the factors for leaving.

The presenter said, “Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love Island. There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects.”
