Which 6″ High Nude Platform Pump Would You Go For? Christian Louboutin Vs. Brian Atwood

I checked out the new shoe arrivals at Saks Fifth Avenue today and these two uncannily similar looking shoes are among them. They’re in a very basic design so I guess these two shoes looking so much like each other isn’t that much of a coincidence. But for people who are used to paying these prices for shoes, I wonder what they would consider as a better buy?

Here’s the first shoe, the nude patent leather version of the Christian Louboutin “Highness”:

Christian Louboutin Highness patent leather platform pumps , $1,075.00

The 2″ platform on this 6″ heel is smoothly covered and hidden by the patent leather upper. A circular cut at the tip of the toe serves as this pump’s peep toe detail.

The second shoe is this “Alesha” from Brian Atwood:

Brian Atwood Alesha patent leather peep toe platform pumps, $775.00

Like the Louboutins, this Brian Atwood pump is nude, patent leather and peep toe. But unlike the Louboutins, the 3″ platform is separately attached to the sole instead of being covered by the upper. This pump’s column heel is also a little bit higher at 6 1/2″ but with the platform, it’s comparable to a 3 1/2″ heel vs. the Louboutin’s 4″. Overall, this pump has more of the vibe of the 70s trend as opposed to the Louboutin’s more classic silhouette.

These pumps are the kind of shoes that would go with anything and would be a great asset to a shoe closet. It’d be nice to have both of those shoes but if you only had to choose one, which would you pick? They’re both in the high price range at $1,075.00 and $775.00 respectively but when you’re used to paying those prices for shoes, I’d imagine the $300 difference could almost be disregarded.

So which 6″-high nude peep toe platform pump is it for you — the Christian Louboutin Highness or the Brian Atwood Alesha?
