Kevin Costner’s First Wife
Costner was a one-woman man before his career brought him fame and great fortune. Costner dated and later married his college sweetheart, Cindy Silva, whom he met while attending the California State University at Fullerton.
On their first real date, he took her to see Funny Girl, a 1968 American biographical musical comedy-drama film, and then home to meet his parents, Sharon Rae (Tedrick), a welfare worker, and his father, William Costner, an electrician.
“I was just really proud that this girl would go out with me,” he later stated. “I wanted to show my parents.”

“[Cindy] has a presence,” Costner told People magazine in 1989. “She was beautiful, she was sweet, she was smarter than me…she represented everything about women that I like.”
The two married in 1978 after a long courtship and were very happy together for nearly 16 years. Their marriage produced three children, Annie, Lily, and Joe, as the couple also focused on their acting careers.

While working together on the set of “Dances with Wolves,” in 1990, rumors of his infidelity were running wild, and then those rumors intensified while the actor was filming “Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves,” later that same year.

Despite repeated attempts to save their long-term marriage, the two parted ways with a mostly amicable divorce in 1994 after agreeing on all matters of finance and custody. Silva received a reported $80 million from the divorce settlement.
Single Life
Costner quickly embraced the single life post-divorce and began dating with a vengeance. He has been linked to stars like Halle Berry, when she was just getting started in acting, Michelle Pfeiffer, and the lesser-known Bobbie Jean Brown, a beauty pageant contestant and the video star of “Cherry Pie,” the salacious song by the rock band “Warrant.”

Interestingly enough, Baumgartner also attended California State University Fullerton where she obtained a degree in Business. This aided her journey as designer of the Cat Bag Couture stylish carrier bags which are available online, in specialist stores, and in boutiques near the Costner ranch in Aspen, Colorado. The bags are lauded for their functionality as well as design.

The pair began dating exclusively until Baumgartner indicated that she was ready to take their relationship to the next level. She of course meant step-marriage and children, but mostly children as she was ready to start a family with Costner.
That yearning by Baumgartner eventually led to a temporary break-up in 2002 over Costner’s unwillingness to have more children.
Baumgartner was in love with Costner but was not willing to give up her dream of having kids, so she moved on. However, Costner was still the man she wanted to make a life with. She was willing to wait for him to come around to the idea of adding more children to his brood.

Her persistence paid off because Costner eventually realized that he was throwing away his second chance at true love if he continued to deny Christine her desire to start a family with him. He came around to what he knew was true love, and the two got engaged in 2003.
Costner and Baumgartner were wed in a lavish ceremony at his ranch in Aspen, Colorado, with over 300 guests to witness their vows.

After marrying, their nest remained empty for four years until the birth of their son Cayden.
Christine and Kevin would go on to add two more children to their family. Another son, Hayes Logan Costner, was born in 2009, followed by a daughter named Grace Avery Costner in 2010.
These three are said to be very close with Costner’s older children.

The pair remains happily married and Costner is dedicated to being the best father and husband possible, embracing marriage and loving his life as a “one-woman man,” once again.
Costner remains popular today, starring in movies such as Hidden Figures and Waterworld. Costner continues to entertain us weekly as the character John Dutton on the hit TV series Yellowstone.
