She was joined at the event by the movie’s director and writer, Nicholas Winding Refn, who was neat in a navy blue suit.
The then-18-year-old actress donned an ethereal cream-colored babydoll frock from Giamba’s Fall 2016 collection.

Starring as an orphaned sixteen-year-old aspiring model named Jesse, she was sixteen years old when the film started shooting in Los Angeles on March 30, 2015, and turned seventeen during filming on April 9, 2015.
Elle Fanning was eighteen years old when the film was released theatrically on June 24, 2016.

“But I didn’t lose a crazy amount of weight. I think also for Jesse, she’s the new girl, she’s kind of fresh, so it’s OK if she kind of was baby-faced. She hasn’t really hit that world yet. She’s not really starving herself, she’s new to it,” she told WWD about her role.
“I grew up kind of admiring fashion and loving it and respecting the creativity of it and how beautiful it is. But then after doing this movie, it’s so interesting, because it’s like, ‘Wow, it’s just really all about the way you look.’ You know, it’s totally a physical aesthetic and it’s a lot of pressure on those girls,” Elle added.

“Our film is horror, but it’s not entirely a horror film in a way,” she said. “The horror of it is more that we’re kind of, like, telling the future of what could happen to this beauty-obsessed world, which is what makes it so terrifying, I feel, and what makes it horrifying.”
The thigh-skimming dress featured a ruffled skirt that was cinched at the waist by a pearl-embellished band. It also had a floral lace bodice with a cleavage-baring plunging v-neckline held up by two thin spaghetti straps.

Elle skipped the jewelry and instead accessorized with a floral metal headpiece by Twigs & Honey and a pair of crystal-embellished gold heels.
She wore her blonde locks down and kept her makeup light and simple, with only a hint of blush and a swipe of pink lipgloss.
