Evangeline Lilly has fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a writer upon the release of her children’s book entitled ‘The Squickerwonkers’ (available at Amazon).

For the book’s autograph signing and reading sessions, Evangeline wore an outfit that looks like what she imagines children’s book writers wear: a semi-ill-fitted blazer, a plaid ball skirt, and mismatching mesh booties.

The designer of her skirt, Sopheak Seng, also gave her the tipped bucket hat to top off her quirky “I’m a writer” look. You can check out her look on Twitter.

The actress and author must have decided that this is a good costume for her book’s entire promo tour. Ditching the top half and opting for a striped tank top for her second book signing, Evangeline just looked even more confusing in her incomplete costume.

We get it that Evangeline was going for an offbeat, eccentric, but fun look with her outfit, but she really could’ve done better than these mesh booties as her footwear choice:

She could’ve gone with clunky lace-up boots or dainty pumps, not those not-quite-kooky but also not-quite-chic booties she wore.

On a positive note, Evangeline did seem to be enjoying herself and living out her dream.
