During the final stretch of promoting her Netflix limited series East of Eden, Florence Pugh showed off two very different sides of her style, switching between soft, feminine glamour and darker, more dramatic dressing.
For the premiere after-party, Pugh went for daring boudoir-inspired glamour in a custom sheer pink Vivienne Westwood look paired with silver platform heels from the English designer. Earlier that day, she took a darker approach for another press appearance, wearing an archival Alexander McQueen look styled with Christian Louboutin pumps.
Standing 5’3¾”, Pugh is no stranger to dramatic heels, having worn everything from towering platforms to classic stilettos across her red-carpet and press-tour shoe wardrobe.
Let’s take a closer look at her September 30, 2026 looks.

Boudoir Glamour: Florence Pugh Shines in Vivienne Westwood Silver Platform Pumps and a Sheer Pink Gown
Florence Pugh commanded attention in her Vivienne Westwood look at the East of Eden premiere after-party in New York City, bringing daring ’90s boudoir glamour to the event.
She wore party-ready Vivienne Westwood heels in shiny silver satin, adding a bright metallic contrast to her pale pink dress. The shoes featured 2-inch-thick platforms covered in the same silver material as the upper, creating a sleek, seamless look. Tiny peep toes showed just a hint of her toes, while buckled ankle straps kept them secure.
The pumps rose to approximately 6-inch block heels with a subtly flared shape. The substantial forefoot platform offsets part of that overall height by raising the front of the foot as well as the heel, a construction explained in our guide to platform heels and heel pitch.
The exaggerated proportions also fit naturally into Vivienne Westwood’s footwear history. The British designer repeatedly experimented with extreme elevation, most famously with the towering Mock-Croc Elevated Gillies that Naomi Campbell wore on the runway in 1993. Our guide to Vivienne Westwood’s most iconic shoes traces that unconventional footwear legacy across four decades.

Pugh paired the heels with a custom floor-length Vivienne Westwood slip dress in see-through sheer pink fabric with a metallic finish that gave it a glossy, shimmering look. I loved how the fluid fabric draped beautifully over her figure!
Thin spaghetti straps held the dress in place, and the bust featured crystal and pearl drop embellishments that added a pretty sparkle. The sheer fabric revealed her underwear beneath, making the look daring, but perhaps a little too daring for my taste.
A matching sheer pink scarf tied loosely around her neck added another dramatic detail, with its long ends falling down the front and back of the dress.
Florence finished the look with Bulgari earrings and rings for extra sparkle. Her hair was styled into a sculpted high updo with retro pin curls and twists, while dewy pink makeup, rosy cheeks, softly defined eyes, and a glossy pink lip completed her glamorous look.

Dark Romance: Florence Pugh Pairs Archival Alexander McQueen With Christian Louboutin Cassia Pumps
Earlier that day, Florence Pugh embraced dark romanticism with a modern edge in an archival Alexander McQueen dress and Christian Louboutin heels.
The McQueen connection was familiar territory for Pugh, but this look took the house’s aesthetic in a much darker direction than the seafoam ruffled Alexander McQueen gown she wore during the Thunderbolts* press tour.
For footwear, Pugh slipped into Christian Louboutin’s “Cassia” lace-up pumps, bringing a ballet-inspired counterpoint to the gothic dress. Made in Italy from satin crepe, the pumps featured a d’Orsay silhouette, with open sides revealing the curves of the foot.
Pugh has previously worn Christian Louboutin’s classic Iriza d’Orsay pumps, but the Cassia interprets the open-sided construction very differently. Instead of the Iriza’s sharply pointed toe, the Cassia draws on ballet footwear with a squared toe covered in softly ruched satin crepe and finished with a delicate leather bow.
Lace-up ties wrap around Pugh’s ankles to reinforce the ballet-inspired effect, while the house’s unmistakable red soles flash beneath the black satin. The Cassia sits within a much broader history of theatrical evening footwear from the French designer, explored in our Christian Louboutin shoe and style guide.
The silhouette has already appeared elsewhere on the red carpet. Cynthia Erivo wore a towering platform interpretation of the Christian Louboutin Cassia pumps with a custom Balenciaga gown at the 2026 Critics’ Circle Film Awards, showing how the ballet-derived design can shift from a delicate lace-up pump to a much more exaggerated platform proportion.
The pumps are available for $1,195 at Mytheresa.

Pugh paired her Louboutins with a black Alexander McQueen gown that mixed satin with dramatic ruffles and sheer panels. Tiers of black ruffles covered the shoulders and cascaded across the upper half, creating a dramatic gothic look.
Beneath them, a satin bodice hugged her waist and hips before flowing into an asymmetric skirt. The hem opened into sheer tulle panels for an airy contrast, while a thigh-high slit exposed the leg and, importantly, kept the lace-up Louboutins visible rather than hiding them beneath the floor-length silhouette.
Florence carried a black drawstring pouch with a micropleated texture and added shimmering Maria Tash jewelry, including the $3,005 Floating Marquise and Round Diamond Drape Threaded Stud, the $1,220 Diamond Marquise Butterfly earring, the $275 Invisible Set Diamond earring, and the $485 Diamond Star earring.
She finished the look with dark-tinted round sunglasses and a loosely pinned-back hairstyle, complementing the outfit’s vintage-inspired styling.

Why Vivienne Westwood and Christian Louboutin Keep Finding Their Way Onto the Same Red Carpet
Florence Pugh’s two East of Eden looks tap into qualities that have made Vivienne Westwood and Christian Louboutin enduring celebrity favorites. Westwood brings corsetry, historical references, exaggerated proportions, and a rebellious British sensibility; Louboutin answers with unmistakable red soles and heels designed to make an entrance.
Together, the houses can move from romantic to provocative without losing their sense of drama. Pugh demonstrated both possibilities in a single day: towering silver Westwood platforms amplified the boudoir mood of her sheer pink gown, while Louboutin’s ballet-inspired Cassia pumps brought a more delicate tension to archival Alexander McQueen.
She is far from the only star drawn to that contrast. Some of the most memorable Westwood looks on Your Next Shoes have been finished with Louboutin heels:
- 💎 Blake Lively created a modern Cinderella moment at Cannes, letting shimmering Christian Louboutin “So Tango” pumps peek beneath an icy-blue, crystal-embellished Vivienne Westwood Couture ball gown.
- ❤️ Priyanka Chopra took the pairing in a more sensual, monochromatic direction, matching a scarlet off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood corset gown with red Christian Louboutin pumps at the Citadel premiere.
- ✨ Amy Adams balanced Westwood’s sculpted femininity with sparkling Louboutin Follies pumps, pairing a lavender strapless dress with crystal-covered red soles for the 2015 BAFTA Nominees Party.
- 🤍 Zendaya showed the combination at its cleanest and most romantic, revisiting her ivory Vivienne Westwood Oscars gown with razor-sharp white Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps for The Drama premiere.
