Kaia Gerber and Hayes Warner have been making their way through the press tour for their upcoming teen thriller, The Shards, serving up elegant ’90s style at every stop ahead of the series’ August 5 premiere.

For the press tour, Gerber has leaned into her signature polished minimalism with a series of elegant black and red dresses that perfectly match the series’ dark, suspenseful mood. She completed each outfit with minimalist thong sandals and sleek mules, adding a light, summery finish to her polished ensembles.

Warner, meanwhile, embraced elegant monochromatic style, opting for more tailored looks with classic slingback pumps that gave her outfits a timeless, sophisticated finish.

At the world premiere of the series, Kaia embraced full-on retro glamour in a shimmering sheer Valentino gown paired with metallic Jimmy Choo heels. Hayes, meanwhile, took the opposite approach in an all-black ensemble, completing the look with elegant lace pumps that added a sophisticated finish.

Kaia Gerber Channels Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy in Gianvito Rossi Sofia Mules and a Black Slip Dress

The American model embraced the effortless minimalism of the ’90s with a timeless, sleek black look, while walking hand-in-hand with Warner for another The Shards press day.

Her shoes were the perfect finishing touch, adding sophistication while keeping the outfit light and understated despite the head-to-toe black palette.

She wore the Gianvito Rossi “Sofia” mules, crafted in Italy from smooth black leather with peep toes, an open back, and sculpted 3.5-inch tapered heels. The streamlined silhouette complemented the simplicity of her slip dress without competing with it.

Gerber is already familiar with the style. She previously wore black Gianvito Rossi Sofia mules with a Jacquemus look at the 2026 Disney Upfront, making the sleek, barely-there design a natural fit for the minimalist dressing she has favored throughout the year.

The Sofia name also extends beyond the mule silhouette: Olivia Munn has worn the label’s Sofia Sling pumps, while Milly Alcock styled white Sofia thong sandals during the Supergirl press tour, illustrating how Gianvito Rossi has interpreted the understated Sofia aesthetic across several heel shapes.

The Sofia remains part of Gianvito Rossi’s current footwear lineup. As of July 2026, Mytheresa lists the Sofia leather mules for $945, alongside satin, patent, metallic, and PVC-trimmed versions, as well as Sofia slingback and D’Orsay pumps.

Farfetch also carries an extensive selection of Sofia styles, including mules from $895, slingback and pointed-toe pumps from $945, metallic thong sandals for $945, and the Sofia ankle boots for $1,395. Prices and availability may change.

Kaia’s styling reminded me of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. If you’ve watched Ryan Murphy’s American Love Story, you might also recognize the resemblance to Sarah Pidgeon’s portrayal of the fashion publicist in Episode 5.

Gerber paired the mules with a fluid black satin slip dress featuring delicate spaghetti straps and a softly draped scoop neckline. The ankle-length silhouette skimmed her frame beautifully, highlighting her statuesque frame, while an ivory shawl casually draped around her neck and cascaded down her back, echoing the styling seen in the series.

She completed the look with Tom Ford’s sleek rectangular Addison sunglasses and wore her hair in a relaxed low bun with loose face-framing tendrils, complemented by fresh, natural-looking makeup.

Kaia Gerber Shines in Jimmy Choo Minny Sandals and a Sheer Valentino Gown at The Shards Premiere

At the world premiere of The Shards, Kaia Gerber once again leaned into vintage-inspired glamour, blending Old Hollywood elegance with the effortless sophistication of the ’90s supermodel era.

She slipped into metallic silver Jimmy Choo “Minny” sandals, the label’s enduring barely-there evening style defined by a slim toe strap, delicate buckled ankle strap, open back, and slender stiletto heel. The stripped-back design was particularly effective beneath Kaia’s crystal-covered Valentino gown, adding a flash of metallic shine without competing with its intricate embellishment.

The Minny is also familiar territory for Gerber. She previously wore black suede Jimmy Choo Minny sandals with an embellished Alexander McQueen look when she won Model of the Year at the 2018 Fashion Awards.

Other stars have used the same minimalist silhouette to ground dramatically different red-carpet looks, from Emma Stone’s richly textured Chanel ensembles during the La La Land press tour to Taraji P. Henson’s midnight-blue velvet Alberta Ferretti gown at the Oscars.

Gerber wore a custom Valentino floor-length silver gown that beautifully highlighted her statuesque frame. The sheer design revealed subtle glimpses of skin under layers of shimmering crystal embellishments, while an all-over diamond argyle lattice pattern created texture and sparkle from top to bottom. Delicate spaghetti straps framed the square neckline, and a thigh-high slit added graceful movement as she walked.

Kaia skipped a necklace, letting the neckline take center stage. She instead accessorized with Briony Raymond Regent diamond earrings and a matching ring for an elegant finish.

Soft, loose curls with a deep side part completed her look, while her natural, radiant makeup kept the focus on the dazzling gown.

Kaia Gerber Pairs The Row Sacha Thong Sandals With a Red Alaïa Dress

Gerber left the GMA studios earlier this week in a bold red-and-black look that still reflected the polished minimalism her mother, Cindy Crawford, helped popularize.

Kaia embraced the return of the heeled thong sandal in The Row’s “Sacha,” a minimalist black nappa-leather style with slender toe-post straps, an open back, and approximately 3.5-inch heels. Against the saturated red Alaïa dress, the barely-there construction kept the footwear visually light rather than adding another statement to the outfit.

The Sacha has already emerged as a celebrity red-carpet favorite in 2026. Emma Stone wore the same black The Row Sacha thong sandals with her beaded Louis Vuitton column dress at the 2026 Actor Awards, using the understated heels in much the same way as Gerber—to balance a more eye-catching dress. The silhouette also fits into the broader revival of minimalist heeled thong sandals seen throughout 2026.

Kaia paired her thong heels with a striking red dress from Alaïa’s Fall 2026 collection. The figure-skimming silhouette hugged her model frame, with a high crew neck and long sleeves that ended in wide ribbed cuffs, complementing the matching ribbed band that wrapped around the hips. From there, the dress narrowed into a sleek ankle-length skirt.

She finished her outfit with the black Aupen “Miracle” shoulder bag and oversized black sunglasses, adding a chic ‘90s-inspired touch.

Kaia Gerber Channels ’90s Minimalism in Herbert Levine Satin Mules and a Black Dress

Arriving at the Good Morning America studios earlier that same day, Kaia Gerber kept things effortlessly chic in an all-black ensemble that was equal parts timeless and modern.

Gerber grounded the look in black satin mules by Herbert Levine, pairing their pointed toes, open backs, and slender heels with the clean lines of her satin dress. Rather than introducing another decorative element, the mules extended the outfit’s monochromatic ’90s minimalism from head to toe.

The choice also puts Gerber among the celebrities embracing the revival of Herbert Levine, the innovative American footwear house founded by Herbert and Beth Levine in New York in 1948. Emilia Clarke wore the revived label’s sculptural “Not Half Bad” d’Orsay pumps with a black The Row dress in January 2026, while Katie Holmes chose Herbert Levine’s “Kiss and Tell” thong sandals for the 2026 American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala. Gerber’s satin mules offer another interpretation of the relaunched house’s distinctive approach to evening footwear.

Channeling ’90s supermodel minimalism with a modern city twist, Gerber paired her mules with a sleeveless satin LBD. The smooth fabric gave the dress a subtle sheen, while the boat neckline and clean, structured silhouette kept the design timeless.

Waist seams softly defined her model frame before flowing into a tailored knee-length skirt, giving the dress a sleek, elegant silhouette. I loved how the clean lines gave the outfit a polished, sophisticated look!

Kaia kept her accessories to a minimum, wearing only a delicate tennis bracelet. To complete the ‘90s-inspired aesthetic, she carried a sleek black Aupen “Miracle” shoulder bag and wore oversized black sunglasses.

Hayes Warner Wears Paris Texas Lidia Slingback Pumps With Burgundy Leather Separates

Holding hands with Kaia Gerber, Hayes Warner took the opposite approach, embracing an edgy, biker-inspired look that balanced rock-and-roll attitude with high-fashion elegance. I liked how her classic pumps softened the leather outfit, giving it a more polished finish.

She wore the Paris Texas “Lidia” slingback pumps in brown tortoise-effect patent leather, using their glossy finish to pick up the rich burgundy tones of her leather outfit. The sharply pointed toes, slender slingback straps, and 4.5-inch stilettos created a lean, elegant counterpoint to the heavier biker jacket and midi skirt.

The Lidia has become one of Paris Texas’ most recognizable celebrity heels, appearing in everything from mules to slingbacks and boots. Hayes’ brown patent pair is particularly reminiscent of the dark brown Paris Texas Lidia slingbacks Zoe Saldaña wore with Maison Margiela tailoring, while Sarah Paulson demonstrated the shoe’s dressier side in mirror-finish silver Lidia pumps at the 2026 Actor Awards. The same pointed-toe silhouette has also become a press-tour staple, with Emily Ratajkowski repeatedly wearing Lidia mules while promoting Too Much.

Warner paired the pumps with The New Arrivals’ burgundy calfskin leather “Biker 00” jacket. The dramatic off-the-shoulder collar created a striking geometric frame around the neckline, while the half-zipped front added a touch of allure. It was finished with an elasticated belted waist that cinched the jacket before flaring into a peplum shape.

Warner completed the outfit with the matching “Raja” midi skirt, whose slim silhouette beautifully highlighted her figure.

Skipping jewelry altogether, Warner let the outfit speak for itself, finishing the look with sleek narrow black sunglasses that enhanced its cool, biker-chic aesthetic.

Hayes Warner Pairs Andrea Wazen Nora Lace Pumps With a Black Alex Perry Gown

While Kaia Gerber embraced Old Hollywood glamour at The Shards premiere, Hayes Warner took the opposite route with a sleek all-black look that exuded modern sophistication.

She appeared to wear Andrea Wazen’s “Nora” pumps, combining sheer black floral lace with satin pointed toes and matching satin heel counters. Set on slender 4-inch stilettos, the mostly transparent uppers let the shoes disappear into Hayes’ monochromatic outfit, while the satin details echoed the structured finish of her black Alex Perry gown.

The lace construction is characteristic of several Andrea Wazen evening styles already seen on the red carpet. Halle Berry wore the designer’s sheer floral-lace Katy heels with an all-black look at the Crime 101 premiere, while Jennifer Lopez paired black-lace Andrea Wazen Katy slingbacks with a vintage Dior skirt suit. Warner’s apparent Nora pumps offer a more restrained interpretation of the designer’s recurring combination of sheer lace, satin, and slender heels.

Hayes Warner’s lace heels paired perfectly with her black Alex Perry gown, enhancing the outfit’s sleek femme fatale aesthetic. The dress featured a structured strapless leather corset bodice that hugged her slender frame, while the straight neckline and elongated, contoured silhouette created a sleek, sculpted look.

From there, the soft black jersey skirt draped elegantly to one side before flowing into a floor-length silhouette with a daring thigh-high slit and a short sweeping train. You can get it for $2,800 at Mytheresa.

Warner completed her monochromatic look with Tiffany & Co. diamond jewelry, including a delicate tennis collar necklace, matching earrings, and sparkling rings that added just the right amount of shine.

Her sleek platinum-blonde bob, styled with a smooth blowout and side part, paired beautifully with her soft, glowing makeup and nude lips, giving the entire look a polished finish.

Hayes Warner Completes Her White GMA Look With Manolo Blahnik Pelagalo Slingback Pumps

For her Good Morning America appearance, Hayes Warner embraced an all-white ensemble that perfectly captured the office siren trend. I loved how her cream-colored pumps softened the tailored outfit, giving it an elegant, feminine finish.

Warner finished her monochromatic look with Manolo Blahnik’s “Pelagalo” slingback pumps in cream nappa leather. The pointed toes were softened by a gently ruched vamp and subtle wrinkling through the sides, while slender slingback straps ended in delicate bows at the heels. Set on 2.7-inch flared heels, the shoes brought a softer, more feminine counterpoint to the sharp tailoring and provocative garter detailing of her outfit.

The Pelagalo offers a more contemporary interpretation of the elegant slingback silhouette long associated with Manolo Blahnik. For comparison, Jennifer Lawrence paired the designer’s iconic Carolyne slingback pumps with a sheer Dior gown at the No Hard Feelings London premiere. Where the Carolyne is defined by its spare, classic lines, Warner’s Pelagalo adds texture through its ruched leather and bow-tied heel strap.

Warner paired the pumps with an ivory satin button-down blouse that hugged her figure beautifully. The fitted silhouette, structured collar, and front buttons created a sharp, tailored look, while the slightly unbuttoned neckline revealed a glimpse of her white lace bra for a modern take on Y2K office dressing.

She completed the outfit with a matching cream knee-length pencil skirt accented by hanging garter straps that added an edgy fashion-forward detail.

For contrast, Warner carried a rich brown Saint Laurent “Mombasa” hobo bag. Rimless oval sunglasses with pink gradient lenses completed the outfit, enhancing its effortless early-2000s aesthetic.
