Kylie Jenner Dons Dreadlocks and Military Boots for Teen Vogue

Kylie Jenner is very busy keeping the rumor mills grinding. Hot on the heels of her blackface controversy comes her Teen Vogue May 2015 editorial where she’s wearing dreadlocks. Wardrobe stylist Brandon Maxwell put the 17-year-old scandal magnet in a green strapless parachute gown and matching green military boots, while makeup artist Maud Laceppe toned down Kylie’s usual heavy-handed application and stuck with a more stripped-down palette.

Kylie may have the Teen Vogue stylists to blame for this faux pas, but she’s got no one to point fingers at for the other time she wore faux locks. The internet isn’t quick to forget that Kylie first flaunted her fashion dreads with matching bigger boobs to boot on Instragam just a couple of months ago.

Kylie posed with her real-life besties, Telana Lynum and Anastasia Karanikolaou, for the Mad-Max-meets-Coachella editorial photographed by Giampaolo Sgura. The shoot also comes with the following weirdly serious video, considering the whole thing is set to look like a party in the middle of the desert:

Are we looking at the return of the military trend in shoes? Is it time to bring out our army-inspired shoes from 2010? We know both Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian have kept their military boots from back then.

If military is really making a comeback, we’ve spotted Marc Jacobs as one of the earliest adopters. Some of those Giuseppe Zanotti military boots that lead the military trend back then are on sale at Bluefly.
