I was going through pictures of the 2010 Golden Globe Awards when I noticed something – a lot of the ladies wore peep-toes with their red carpet dresses or gowns.

Seeing all these ladies wear their peep-toes on the Golden Globes red carpet only tells us one thing – peep toe pumps and d’Orsay peep-toes (in metallic or satin) are the most ideal shoes to match with formal dresses and gowns.
Allow me to elaborate why.
Both the peep-toe pump and d’Orsay peep-toe are classics, both styles cover the heel so it is not only more formal to wear, but also ideal as it keeps your heel from catching the hem of your long gown while walking (a thing that usually happens when you’re wearing open back or sling back sandals).
Both styles do not have front straps that cross the feet so both are lengthening and flattering to wear (in case your dress is short).
In other words, every girl should have at least one pair of satin peep-toe pumps or d’Orsay peep-toes because you’ll never know when you’re going to need it.
If you’re ready to purchase a pair of satin peep toes, check out these great shoes that we found at Amazon.
