Phoebe Adele Gates, 19, is the youngest of Bill Gates’ and Melinda French Gates’ three children. Her older siblings are Jennifer Catherine Gates and Rory John Gates.

She and her famous father hit the red carpet of the TIME 100 Gala on Wednesday night. Bill Gates, 66, is the Microsoft co-founder and current co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Phoebe Gates attended the TIME 100 Gala with her father who participated in the Time 100 Summit on Tuesday.

Phoebe wore a metal mesh dress from the Fendi by Versace of the Fendace collection. The silver metal looked pink from the red background’s reflection, and the dress had alternating initials on it to represent the dress’s makers.

Bill wore a classic black tuxedo and spoke about the toll of the COVID-19 pandemic. “I have to say, given the toll of this pandemic — 20 million dead globally, a million in the U.S., and it could have been way more fatal. We just got lucky that the death rate per case was like 0.2%,” he said.

Phoebe is currently a student at Stanford set to graduate in 2025. She is pursuing a degree in ballet and art.

Not much is known about the youngest Gates child. She has over 100k followers on Instagram, but she does not share much about her social life online.

What we do know is this:

When she’s not at Stanford, Phoebe lives at her parents’ $124 million lakefront eco-mansion nicknamed Xanadu 2.0.

Before attending Stanford, Phoebe and all of the Gates children attended Bill’s private alma mater Lakeside High School in Seattle.

After showing an aptitude for dance Phoebe transferred to the Professional Children’s School in New York. This school caters to child actors and dancers.

From there she studied at The School of American Ballet at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and also at the famed Juliard School.

Phoebe and her siblings were set to inherit $10 million each from their parents, but they may just be dancing their way into a higher sum after their parents’ divorce.

In a 2016 interview with This Morning, Bill said, “It’s not a favor to kids to have them have huge sums of wealth. It distorts anything they might do in creating their own path.”

But Melinda had a different view and wanted their children to inherit more. Their divorce may just be the children’s ticket to a larger inheritance.

“The divorce is definitely a sad thing. I have responsibility for causing a lot of pain to my family,” Bill said in March 2022 while appearing on Today.

“I know divorces are different, but it’s just a complete change. We were partners, we kind of grew up together, and now that’s different,” he said.

Only time will tell what will bring the Gates children, and for now, Phoebe has two more years of school to look forward to.
