Wedge sneakers undeniably dominated the footwear scene last year. They seemed to be on their way to becoming wardrobe staples for a while back there, but the past season has shown that they’ve reached their eventual saturation point.

Seriously, some of the new wedge sneakers coming out now are just ridiculous. It’s like shoe labels designed them just for the sake of having new arrivals, without much thought to whether they’re still flattering or even nice-looking.

Looks like fashion is about to retire wedge sneakers. However, what we’re not quite ready to give up just yet is the cuteness and comfort combo that wedge sneakers provide.

Enter flat fashion sneakers — what sneakers were like in the first place. Flat fashion sneakers give all the coolness and comfort we’re looking for without the weird, unbalanced proportions of a lot of the new wedge sneakers today.

From high-end to low-end shoe labels, we’re seeing a return of flat fashion sneakers. Lanvin has resurrected the popular patent cap-toe style, Giuseppe Zanotti has included flat options to wedge sneakers in its most current collection, and even Ash, the go-to brand for look-for-less Isabel Marant wedge sneakers, has leveled the wedges on their latest sneaker designs.

For you, ladies, who are so over wedge sneakers but not their cool, comfortable style, flat fashion sneakers are here to the rescue! We’ve compiled styles from different price ranges at Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom to fit every budget.
