Kim Kardashian posed for photos with her husband Kanye West at the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday night at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, California.

Accessorizing with 25-carat nude diamond drop earrings and a 15-carat nude pear-shape diamond ring from Lorraine Schwartz, the 39-year-old reality star donned a shipwreck-inspired oyster dress from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2003 Collection.

Just one of only two ever produced, Kanye purchased the floor-length design from Rita Watnick of Lily et Cie as a Christmas gift for his wife. Jennifer Aniston bought her vintage John Galliano for Dior gown at the same Beverly Hills archival designer store.

The other dress is exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and labeled as “a poetic rendering of a disaster at sea.” Andrew Bolton, the museum’s curator, has described it as “arguably the most important dress of the 21st century.”

“The hem of the skirt, like the wavy lip of a giant mollusk, further emphasizes the seashell quality of the gown. But unlike Aphrodite, who was born in the foam of the sea and borne to shore on a scallop, McQueen’s beauty is a bruised pearl encased in a deconstructing oyster, the tumbled survivor of the violent action of waves.”

Her husband rocked a leather wrap blazer and cozy sweatpants from Alfred Dunhill. He accessorized with layered chains, tan boots, and oversized sunglasses.
