Shoe Trends 2013: Ask the Fashion Blogger Experts — Part 3

We recently featured a few of our favorite fashion bloggers and their thoughts on the upcoming year in shoes here.

In part 1, we interviewed Katelyn of The Skinny Blonde Girl, Nanooosh of Fashion in My Eyes, and Shevah Vahdatpour of Shevahh. In part 2, we interviewed Sarah of Sarah Loves, Diya Liu of In Her Stilettos, Sarah Colee of Nifty Thrifts, and Alyssa of Ordinary People. We got even more feedback from other bloggers, so we had to share their opinions, too! Check out the responses of these four lovely ladies below.

What do you think are the hottest shoe trends of 2013?

It seems like boldness is the way to go this season. I’ve been seeing a lot of color blocking and embellishments, which are great for really giving shoes that amazing statement look. Platforms are still big, too, particularly in funky shapes and styles like cutouts and flatforms.

Who are your favorite shoe designers right now?

I’ve been absolutely obsessed with Chinese Laundry for a while now! I find that they have a great variety of classic shoes that will never go out of style and super trendy shoes.  That’s kind of what I look for in a shoe — something quirky enough to make heads turn, yet balanced out with tasteful sophistication.

Which shoe pair is highest on your current wish list?

This is one of those shoes that I really love but I might not be brave enough to actually try! Going back to what I said about Chinese Laundry, this Canddy platform really dazzles, and it would be really great for this season, but I can’t see it being a style that will last through the years. That doesn’t stop me from really lusting over it though!

What do you think are the hottest shoe trends of 2013?

I’m still loving sandals; the higher the heels, the better! I also think there will be a lot more metallics and embellishments coming through in 2013.

Who are your favorite shoe designers right now?

Alexander Wang is always a shoe favorite of mine, as are Givenchy and Balenciaga.

Which shoe pair is highest on your current wish list?

These incredible Balenciaga heels!

What do you think are the hottest shoe trends of 2013?

I think an androgynous look is going to be quite big this year. Women’s brogues, fringed loafers, chunky boots, flatforms, and maybe another ’90s revival mixed with ’60s patterns and colors.

Who are your favorite shoe designers right now?

Marni has very cute strappy numbers, Gorman does amazing things with patterns, color, and clogs, and Valentino is just always timeless and classy.

Which shoe pair is highest on your current wish list?

Miu Miu glitter-finish leather brogues have been on my wish list for a really long time now! So beautiful.

What do you think are the hottest shoe trends of 2013?

The biggest hit? Definitely fringes on our shoes! They are a great boho accent in the whole look.

Who are your favorite shoe designers right now?

Perhaps it will not surprise anyone, but my favorites are Jeffrey Campbell, Valentino, and Christian Louboutin.

Which shoe pair is highest on your current wish list?

I would be delighted to have Valentino patent leather ‘Rockstud’ slingback pumps, but unfortunately it is not possible at all. Maybe one day my dream will come true.
