Long before Bella Thorne’s current polished red-carpet evolution, the then–19-year-old rocked one of her most daring street-meets-glam looks at the April 19, 2017 Freeform UpFronts in New York City.

She wasn’t the only standout from Freeform’s stylish history. At the following year’s 2018 UpFronts, Olivia Holt wowed in a Cushnie Et Ochs graphic brushstroke embroidery maxi dress, perfectly paired with sleek Stuart Weitzman “Nudist” sandals. At the same 2017 UpFronts that saw Bella’s bold look, Tyra Banks brought high-glam drama in a Roberto Cavalli floral ensemble finished with elegant pointed-toe pumps — another unforgettable moment on the Freeform red carpet.

For the April 19, 2017 event, the 5′8″ (172.7 cm) Famous in Love actress — who wears a US shoe size 7–7.5 — teamed a sheer fishnet bodysuit with a cropped Henley top from Forever 21, Fenty Puma by Rihanna track pants, and a faux leather charm choker.

She finished the look with leopard-textured “Katty So Posh” lace-up boots from Dolls Kill, a San Francisco–based global online fashion retailer founded in 2011 by Shoddy Lynn and Bobby Farahi, known for its bold, subculture-inspired footwear and apparel.

Though the way she styled the top here might not be the most wearable choice for everyday life, it’s easy to imagine a chic reinterpretation — layered under denim overalls or paired with a mini skirt and topped off with sneakers or ankle boots for a playful, trend-forward vibe.
