We’ve all been told this simple piece of advice: Never get a drastic new hairdo before a job interview. However, it doesn’t look like that tip applies to celebrities prior to red carpet events. Uma Thurman opted for a fresh chop just prior to taking the stairs at the annual Cannes Film Festival.

Uma turned heads in a gorgeous off-the-shoulder gown by Atelier Versace. The dusty pink dress enhanced her natural curves by drawing attention to her shoulders and cleavage, and opened up at the skirt to show off some leg.
The actress finished her look with Christian Louboutin’s Blake Lively-inspired sandals, the “Blakissima,” before finishing off her look with some heavy-set diamonds by Bulgari.

It is unclear whether Uma originally planned to give her hair a chop, but we love the result.
The actress uploaded a photo of herself with her hairstylist, whom she called “Robert Scissorhands,” on her personal Instagram account.
