Earlier this month, the 34-year-old singer revealed that she is battling mercury poisoning after following a pescatarian diet. In an interview with The Cut, Janelle revealed that she felt mortal for the first time
“I started feeling my mortality,” Janelle shared about eating a vegetarian diet with fish and other seafood.

According to the Center for Disease Control, large amounts of methylmercury (organic mercury largely linked to eating contaminated fish or shellfish) eaten over weeks to months can cause damage to the nervous system.
